About the adventure
SESSION ZERO FREE 1944, Western Europe. The Allies face their greatest peril yet as the Nazis, already in league with eldritch and sorcerous powers beyond human comprehension, unveil their latest wunderwaffe--robotic fighting machines which need no fuel, require only a crew of one, and which can devastate conventional ground forces with alarming ease. A daring plan is hatched to steal the designs for these so-called LANCER fighting machines, and with its success begins your story as a pilot on the Last Front. Can you push the Nazis back and save Earth from their cosmic evil, or is the world doomed to suffer under their tyranny forever? - About the Campaign - This campaign is short-medium in length and will suit anyone looking for the core LANCER experience and interesting sitreps with objectives beyond "kill everything on the field". It's an uncomplicated alt-history where the Nazi warmachine is buoyed by genuine sorcery and in league with eldritch entities, and the atrocities they are committing are omnicidal--even against their own people. You'll need to push them back on the Last Front over a series of sitreps handed down to you by high command, culminating in a climactic battle for the fate of humanity against the eldritch horrors bent on destroying Earth. - Inspirations - Trench Crusade Wolfenstein, obviously Brassbound: Adamantium Dawn

About me
I have been a GM ever since receiving a D&D3.5E starter set when I was a young lad. I was the kid who tried to start a D&D club in primary school, and I've been playing tabletop games of all kinds, from board games to wargames, ever since. I'm a kind and funny guy by all reports, and I've always been warmly received by my players (once, a player frothed at the mouth from excitement during a tense combat encounter at the end of a campaign!) I am also a designer, and I have been tweaking rules and making homebrew ever since I started GMing. I have been told before that I should write my adventures down and try to publish them, and honestly one day I do hope to become a published author of adventures and rulebooks (rather than just an informal one), and I'm even working on my own skirmish wargame, Flintstrike. I can be shy when it comes to putting myself out there like that, though...but one day soon, I hope.

Creating your character
We will begin at LL0 in Everests/Chomolungmas/Sagarmathas and we will be using the bonds system found in the KTB book. Session zero is free and we will spend a little time going over each other's characters as pilots on the Last Front and then run a short sitrep with the time we have left.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You'll need a discord account to play, since that is the platform I use for voice communication during the game. I have a discord server where you'll find everything you need, from like-minded friendly people to all the homebrew and information you'll need to participate. The link to it is presented when you join the game.
What Roy brings to the table
I bring an enjoyable, lore-consistent experience and provide an immersive world you can get lost in. From ambient music to characterful voices, I know when to let players' imaginations run wild invoking Rule of Cool and when to be strict about Rules as Written to ensure everyone at the table is having their equal share of a good time. I use the Foundry VTT in order to provide a cinematic experience with visual- and sound effects, digital character sheets and battlemaps that incorporate height levels and line of sight. I also use an amazing isometric perspective module that makes it look like all the characters are really in the thick of things, instead of using circular tokens.
Homebrew rules
All the official and semi-official Lancer LCPs are legal for this campaign. There will not be any homebrew/community LCPs, but enemies will be largely homebrew.

How Roy creates a safe table
I keep the players at my table safe and comfortable by ensuring a warm atmosphere and by making it very clear that anyone can come to me with their concerns at any time. I also check in at the end of every session to make sure everyone is feeling positive and to see if there was anything that gave someone a bad experience during the game.
