About the adventure
The Feast is a D&D horror one-shot set during the autumn Harvestfall celebration in the homebrewed fantasy world of Talamoor. Players will encounter spirits, skeletons, and other macabre remnants of the afterlife as they help solve a moral dilemma while navigating Death's domain. All experience levels are welcome! Come and grab a cozy drink, turn down the lights, and ring in the spooky season with a fun, chilling adventure. Those who enjoy roleplaying, moral dilemmas, puzzle-solving, lite combat, and a general horror atmosphere are more likely to leave the dinner table... satiated.

About me
My name is Andrew! I enjoy all sorts of games, having played tabletop games like Warhammer 40K for 3+ years, PC games like World of Warcraft for 20+ years, and most recently TTRPGs like Dungeons & Dragons as both a player in campaigns and a DM for a shared-world homebrew campaign. I lean heavy into roleplaying and world-building, and will construct scenarios that give players the option to use their words as much as their weapons to resolve an encounter. I use one-shots as an introduction to longer campaigns and short multi-session story arcs, depending on a player's interest and availability. The stories I like collaboratively telling have covered horror, political-thrillers, social unrest, world-ending conspiracies, light-hearted and nature-themed adventures, romance, bank heists, Indiana Jones-style adventures, and family dramas. I tend to inject a lot humor in my stories as well, especially to balance out the heavier material. I'm a big believer in telling stories that make an impact and come from the heart, and will always do my best to make sure each and every player is getting value out of the time they spend in my games. And just to address this now: I use AI for images and to help me organize the lore in my world. I do not use AI to write stories or make meaningful creative decisions in my games.

Creating your character
Please create a character at least one day before the game so I can review the character sheet and reach out with feedback as needed! You are more than welcome to message me on Discord or StartPlaying if you have any questions about character creation (or anything else related to the adventure). For this adventure, players can choose to don a Harvestfall costume of their favorite hero or villain. (Basically, a Halloween costume). These won't change the stats of your armor or weapons, but may affect other social skill checks that occur in the game. CHARACTER CREATION General: Unless otherwise specified, please make a level 5 character. Uncheck legacy/noncore and don't ignore corn weight. Set Character Privacy to Public. Before our first session, I will check your character sheet and reach out to you privately to confirm your character details! Abilities: Point Buy or Standard Array. Magic Items / Starting Equipment: You are provided 1 free uncommon magic item in addition to whatever items you can afford with your starting cash. If you use any external homebrew items (not created by me), please let me know. Starting cash is based on your Starting Equipment. You can either take the supplies and smaller GP amount or the larger GP amount and buy the equipment you need with it prior to your first session. Spells: Revival / resurrection spells in Talamoor are rare and require special diamonds, which are also rare and heavily regulated by powerful in-world societies and organizations. Please reach out to me before selecting them for you character! Race / Class: Feel free to select any race and class combo, including multiclass. I also have a homebrew race called the Acanthi. They are rare in the Talamoor but feel free to play one! Imagine an ancient and nearly extinct drow-presenting race of warlocks that can barter with any creature to learn new spells and grow in power.

What superskyflakes brings to the table
I utilize voices, ambient music, and a wide-range of visuals to help set the scene and immerse the players at the table. Like many, I utilize Rule of Cool and am open to having discussions at the table so long as we reach a satisfactory resolution quickly and keep the game fun for all! I do a lot of prep work before the session to customize games to my player's backstory and preferences so expect at least some outreach prior to the adventure!
