About the adventure

Thay is ruled by Red Wizards, and the worst of them has stopped pretending. Szass Tam is a lich, a zulkir of necromancy, and he is midway through a ritual that will tear the veil and hand him a nation of corpses. The other wizards who could stop him are too busy circling each other. One isn't. A zulkir with more nerve than allies recruits you into Operation Deadfall. You get a safe house in the capital, a code name, and missions nobody will ever admit to authorizing. You are not an army. You are the thing that goes in quietly while the army is still arguing. This is a spy thriller that happens to be D&D. Scrying and greater invisibility instead of a rope and grapple, mass suggestion instead of a bribe, a disguise that holds up because it's real magic. Every mission has a secrecy mandate, and blown cover has teeth — agents die, patrols double, safe houses get raided. Get compromised badly enough, and the next mission is cleaning up after yourselves. Levels 11 to 20. That's tier 3 and tier 4, the part of 5e most campaigns never reach — you start powerful and end legendary. Fully asynchronous play by post on Discord. No scheduled sessions, no timezone math. And a spy game is the one thing text does better than voice: your private channel is real, compartmentalized intelligence, so you'll genuinely know things the rest of your cell doesn't.

About me

I run play-by-post. Not as a sideline — it's the format I've built everything around, and 66 games and three years later I'm still here, still posting, still finishing campaigns. If you've never played by post: we play in text, on Discord, with no scheduled session. You read what happened and write your character's part when you get a moment. It works for people with unpredictable jobs, people in an awkward timezone, and people who'd rather write a good paragraph than think of something clever during three seconds of silence on a voice call. What I care about is your character mattering. Tell me the impossible thing you want to pull off and I'll help you find the road to it. I know the rules well enough to bend them when bending them makes the better scene. And I split my attention on purpose — quiet players get as much room as loud ones, which is the thing text genuinely does better than voice.
