About me
Hello there! My name is Vincent, and the two little gargoyles behind me are Bobby and Smaug, my warlock familiars. I started playing Dungeons & Dragons in university with my featherless friends and it quickly became our favorite hobby, so much so that I've been running official and homebrew campaigns for us ever since. And because I'm always eager to play and meet new characters and experience new stories, I would be thrilled to GM for You, intrepid adventurer!🧝🏽🏹 I even wrote my master's thesis about the positive impact TTRPGs have on social and creative skills as a potential form of group therapy. A session a week is good for the brain! 🧠🧙

Creating your character
You can use any officially published book for character options, but homebrew content must be approved by me. We start at Level 3, using the Point Buy system for this campaign. (https://chicken-dinner.com/5e/5e-point-buy.html) If you're new to DnD, I'm happy to help with all the jargon and creating your first character. 👀 You can also keep your character sheet on any platform or even on paper. Same goes for rolling, physical dice are welcome, I won't stand between you and your clickity-clacks. Soon after signing up and joining our Discord server, I will send you prep materials to help you create your character and ground them in the adventure setting, complete with goals, secrets, motivations, allies and rivals.
Sessions are every Tuesday. f you decide to join, every effort will be made to help you with onboarding, including: - Introductions with the party via a short session 0 in our first game together - Help with character creation, and connecting them to the setting - Readily answering all your questions
What to expect

What Vincent brings to the table
🧭 Maps, handouts & unique magic items 🧙🏽 A player- and character-oriented approach ❄️ A grand expansion of Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden ⚜️ Battle maps and a campaign map to explore on Foundry VTT 🎧 Our very own Discord server for voice chat 📜 A Quest Log to assist the note-takers of the party 🌒 A memorable, intricate and plot-driven horror survival adventure
Homebrew rules
I use a few pages worth of popular variant rules for 5e, the character limit doesn't allow for listing them, but once you join you'll have access to them. Some examples are: - Variant exhaustion rules - it is a cumulative -1 penalty per level of exhaustion, up to level 10 (where madness or death occurs). - System shock and lingering injuries starting at level 4 - it only applies at truly devastating blows, and there is a chance to resist them. - Bonus action potion drinking. - Light flanking benefits. - Plunging attacks. - Many downtime activities, such as Harvesting, Crafting, Cooking, and Training. - Up to 3 Inspiration Points and Mighty Deeds.

How Vincent creates a safe table
This adventure deals with a variety of weighty topics and, after all, is a horror setting, featuring violent and sociopathic antagonists, but also the dread of isolation and almost constant darkness. But humor frequently goes hand-in-hand with horror, and our goal, ultimately, is to have fun playing. We will go over safety tools, consent, and how the party will get together in Session 0, and at the end of each session we can discuss what went well and what should be improved. I will also send out a consent form in which you can let me know what content you don't wish to see in our games. This is a newbie-friendly game, I will help with the mechanical and rulebook-sides of the game, you just need to tell me what your character would like to do. 🎲
