About the adventure
A cabal of supernatural entities- mad gods, demons, and archfey- fight for control of a realm cast adrift. Each seeks pieces of a broken artifact and fights to undermine the others. It is a realm of chaos and bloodshed, where adventurers and monsters alike are used as pawns in a grand game. But some resist. A brave few who stand alone against impossible odds with nothing but hope and a talking llama. That's where you come in. You and your fellow adventurers find yourselves yanked into this deadly game, a realm run by unhinged powers with the ability to bend reality. The dungeon is rigged against you. And yet, no matter what they throw at you, you will need to find a way out and save yourselves, and as many of those trapped as you can. It only means fighting gods... How bad could that be? This is a campaign for those keen on wacky, creative combat, lots of shenanigans, and deadly intrigue. A combat-leaning dungeon crawl, with a light-hearted spin. About me
Hello! I'm a professional and award-winning storyteller/actor/writer/GM/theatre maker, and a recent cast member of The Twenty-Sided Tavern (the official D&D stage show) at the Sydney Opera House! I've been running games for beginner and experienced players for a decade. I also run the theatre company Ponydog Productions, an award-winning theatre company that makes interactive storytelling shows, and Bards For Hire where I write studio-quality theme songs for RPG characters, campaigns, and parties (currently on hiatus but available wherever you get music.) I am a classically trained actor and studied at the Royal Central School for Speech & Drama (alma mater of Judi Dench, Carrie Fisher, Martin Freeman, a 7th of the Doctors from Doctor Who, and a 3rd of the recent live-action Spider-Men, among many others). I am currently finishing up a Master's Of Creative Writing. Creating your character
Once you join the game, you'll have access to almost the complete selection of D&D sourcebooks and supplementary materials on D&DBeyond, so there are plenty of options to choose from! We'll be doing some world-building in our session 0, so please don't lock in too much about your character before then, though I would encourage you to bring a couple of ideas for what kinds of character you'd most enjoy. These are things that will be true about your characters: ⚔️ They must fit within a high fantasy setting. ⚔️ They will start at least level 3 (possibly higher depending on group preference). ⚔️ Characters do not have to be virtuous, but they cannot be arseholes. ⚔️ You will be dealing with celestials, gods, fey, and fiends. Creating characters with connections to these entities will have a major effect on your character's situation, for both better and worse. Feel free to ask me any questions, but we'll cover the majority of this in our session 0!

What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need: 1. Have a D&D Beyond account (or create one for free at www.dndbeyond.com/create-account) 2. Join the Discord (available once you're signed up!) - feel free to pop me a message to say hi - I'm daveyexmachina 😊 3. Come up with even a vague character idea or two - we'll build on our world and do some character creation together, but it will help to come along with something you can build upon. 4. Have a working microphone (and preferably a webcam) 5. We will be using AboveVTT for this campaign. If you haven't used it before, it's a really amazing and totally free extension you can download for either - Google Chrome (https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/abovevtt/ipcjcbhpofedihcloggaichibomadlei) or Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/abovevtt/) It connects to D&DBeyond and does everything the built-in maps do but waaaaaay better. 6. What Davey brings to the table
Expect a rollicking adventure with creative combats, rule of cool, and plenty of shenanigans. As a DM, I love focusing on character, story, and world-building, so expect plenty of that! Plus, many, many accents and character voices. This will be a combat-heavy campaign. While some narrative events and themes will be dark and gruesome, and it is unlikely all characters will survive, the tone will generally lean towards shenanigans. Expect a lot of silliness and laughs along the way!
