About the adventure

The Borderlands are a place where civilisation ends and the wilderness begins. Small villages cling to the roads, merchants travel in guarded caravans, and ancient ruins lie scattered beyond the safety of the towns. For years, the people here have lived with the dangers of bandits, monsters, and things that are better left forgotten. But something has changed. Travellers have begun disappearing along the roads. Livestock is being found mutilated in the fields. Strange lights have been seen among the hills at night, and several people swear they have heard drums coming from the old ruins beyond the forest. The local authorities are stretched thin, and there are few experienced adventurers willing to risk their lives investigating. That is where you come in. You may be mercenaries looking for work, wandering heroes seeking adventure, locals protecting their home, or simply people who found themselves in the wrong place at the right time. Whatever brought you here, you have been offered a simple job: Find out what is happening in the Borderlands—and stop it before it gets worse. Your first lead is a small settlement on the edge of the wilderness. Its people are frightened, its guards are exhausted, and someone—or something—has been watching the village from the surrounding hills. The road ahead will take you through dangerous wilderness, forgotten ruins, monster-infested caves, and places where few people have ventured for generations. You don't know what awaits you. You don't know who you can trust. But every great adventurer has to start somewhere. And your adventure starts here.

About me

Hi, I'm Luck! I've been playing tabletop games for around 15 years, and over that time I've played a pretty wide range of systems and settings. D&D has always been a particular favourite, especially the freedom it gives players to approach situations in their own way and create stories that you wouldn't necessarily get from a video game. As a GM, I really enjoy the social and creative side of the hobby. I like building a world that feels alive, but I'm equally happy letting the players take things in directions I hadn't planned for. For me, the best sessions are the ones where everyone at the table gets a chance to contribute and where the story develops naturally from the group's decisions. My aim is to run games that are welcoming, relaxed and fun, while still giving players those moments of tension, excitement and genuinely memorable adventure. Whether you're here for the roleplay, combat, exploration, ridiculous character moments, or a bit of everything, I want everyone to feel like their character matters and that they're part of the story.

Character creation

Creating your character

Four pre-generated characters will be available for players to choose from. Alternatively, players are welcome to create their own character using the 2024 D&D Core Rules. I am also happy to provide guidance and assistance throughout the character creation process.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need an account on Discord, DnD Beyond, and have a microphone so they can voice chat.

What Luck brings to the table

My goal is to provide a welcoming, engaging, and enjoyable D&D experience for both new and experienced players. I aim to create a game where everyone feels comfortable contributing to the story, making decisions, and bringing their character to life. I will provide clear guidance throughout the game, particularly for new players who may be unfamiliar with the rules. You will never be expected to know everything before you start. I am happy to explain rules and answer questions as we play. You can expect: An engaging story Roleplay and character development Tactical and exciting combat A balance of roleplay, exploration and combat The Rule of Cool A supportive table Help when you need it Ultimately, I want players to feel that they are part of the adventure rather than simply following a predetermined story. I'll provide the world, characters and challenges, but the choices you make will shape what happens next.
