About the adventure
The Great Divide, a massive mountain range that spreads across the middle of a world split by war. It was created by a Goddess as a way to protect her people against their enemies. However, dragging up so much land from the core of their world carried with it more than just protection, more than expected. The Train of Limits! The Train runs endlessly underground, carrying within it trails, challenges, and mysteries. It beckons all those who seek to learn, grow, and be tested. Finding the Train means you already have accepted the invitation to ride upon this connected set of trials. What brought you here, to test yourself in such a manner? What will you gain, what will you sacrifice, what will you offer up? You will be offered knowledge beyond comprehension, and growth beyond your limits. Each carriage of the train carries a different test, and a different opportunity to be rewarded or punished for your ability to overcome the trials at hand. How will you go beyond what you always thought possible? Will you make it to the end, or start of the train?

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hello! I am David, and I am a loving individual! The greatest goal of all of my games is to ensure everyone involved has fun, and that everyone feels as if their story matters, because it does! I am not here to tell my stories, I am here to tell my player's stories in the world I have designed. I want your character's story to come to life, and to see it, and even you, bloom! I love people, love enthusiasim, and love seeking out the joy in life that is so clearly there amongst the sorrow. There is Joy in the Sorrow! I've been a Game Master for multiple Tabletop Systems for over 14 years. I've always loved being a GM, more so than even being a player! I started off being a GM for my family, then my friends, and now anyone who is willing to join! I love meeting new people and going on wonderful adventures with others! I have a lot of information written about the world that I am hosting all of my games in. I have over 400 pages of information for the world, known as Edrrera. I am very open to homebrew content, and add a bunch of my own in. If you have any questions, please reach out!

Creating your character
“There is no wrong way to do this, besides making a character without passion!” Davjez Establishing a theme of either being a character lost, or a character seeking a challenge, or a character seeking growth will all be very good ways to design your character! Your character will be pushed Mentally, Physically, and Spiritually. Make sure you design a character willing and seeking to be pushed this way, at least to a measure. You'll struggle to struggle, but you'll persevere. I expect your character to be made before the campaign. I will send a link to a document that goes over character creation.
As a note, any intense character requirements aren't as serious for a 1-shot. Just relax and have fun! Have a loose character ready, and I'll help where needed! Another note, I'll be running a campaign full time based on this one-shot, still in Cypher. That campaign will take into account my normal rules for playing and character design. Check it out if you enjoy this! Make any character you want! I want you to understand it is MY job to balance the party and encounters yall face, not yours! I will do my job as storyteller to run a good game! Just make your character in regards to the rules I have linked in "Preparation Materials", and we'll be good to go! Work with me on your character!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Preparation You will need the following apps to play, please make accounts on them, and at the very least, be willing to discuss with me other options: D&D Beyond (https://www.dndbeyond.com/en) || Where we keep character sheets || Discord (https://discord.com/) || Where we use Voice chat, and at times as needed, share screens (for me to help!) || Owlbear Rodeo (https://www.owlbear.rodeo/) || Where we have the battlemaps Google Docs/Sheets (Just use google for this! A Gmail helps, though I do not believe it is needed.)
What Davjez brings to the table
I Provide… Roleplay focused campaigns, driven by storytelling and a desire to tell stories that are focused on fun, intense, and entertaining experiences. I welcome all players, of any experience. I offer: Roleplay - It is my specialty! I do it well, do it often, and it is often what my players express to be their favorite part of my campaigns! Comfort & Acceptance - I always strive to ensure my players feel comfortable and accepted in the games I run. It is important to me that we all help each other feel important in these games, and feel at the very least respected. This is more my job than others, but I strive to create environments where people can freely join and feel comfortable, rather than feel excluded from the group. Storytelling - I express many wonderful and even difficult emotions and experiences through my storytelling. It is up to me to ensure that the story that is told to my players is one that is interesting, engaging, full of conflict, success, failure, and growth. I think it is important that you, my players, feel as if you are the main characters! It doesn't mean nothing bad will ever happen, but I am not trying to "win" against you, or "catch" you making mistakes. I will have both positive and negative consequences to your actions, but I will not be out to get you! I will also be kind, soft, and encourage you to act how your character would, with the caveat that you be a team player as well! Lore - I have over 500 pages of lore written! We can discuss this, and I can share more as we play! Music - I both write music for my campaigns, and have plenty of playlists of other's music to help in the sessions! Experience - I have over 15 years of GM experience, and 1 year of professional experience!
Homebrew rules
I use a LOT of homebrew rules and aspects. I will have a set of official rules posted in links (that I need to touch up and work on.) I will explain them as we go, but in general, I am VERY generous to my players. Expect yourselves to be treated fairly, and well! The rules help with this!

How Davjez creates a safe table
Safety There is a focus on comfort and reassurance in my games, and I aspire to help everyone feel comfortable and as if they belong. Which you do! Our main goal is always for everyone to feel safe, and have fun! Roleplaying and storytelling can be vulnerable and honest experiences. I encourage these experiences, and I encourage them in a way where people can truly express deeper and more inspiring truths to each other, and especially themselves. We will have the following: Session 0 Rules that establish my player and DM (myself) expectations. I have high expectations for both sides! We are doing this right, and respectfully! (We want to have safe fun!) I will also frequently ask questions to people's comfort on certain topics, ideas, and experiences. I will frequently communicate that I desire others to desire to do so too! We will be addressing many serious and deep topics, so I will absolutely be making sure to find out what people's hard limits are. After sessions I will also ask questions, and check in with everyone. Same with between sessions. I will message people as needed to help maintain comfort between players and each other and myself.
