About the adventure

Fun pirate One-shot to explore, plunder and play in the historical city of Visby. You can explore the fantasy version of a real historic place, filled with real history and fantasy creatures and magic. This one shot is for you who is entirely new to roleplaying games and also those who just wants a whimsical session of fun and a bit of goofiness. The fantasy version of Europe I will be using has now become a document of 250+ pages of deep lore and complicated(for me) Social and economical systems.

About me

My experience with ttrpgs start around 2009 when a family friend invited me to join him and my dads table to play through a lord of the rings campaign. This campaign took 6 years to complete where i soon after started GMing first for some friends and then the last 2 years starting community games at my university. This has now lead to wanting to start GMing somewhat profesionally after almost 10 years of GMing for friends, family, summer camps and local youth programs. My style is one of deep world lore, quick improve and an almost sandbox like experience for my players

Creating your character

When you create your characters please follow this little checklist: Classes allowed: All core classes, plus blood hunter and artificer are allowed Backgrounds: all core backgrounds are allowed, no custom backgrounds please. Species: All official species are allowed, no homebrew species allowed. Levels: We will be playing with level 3 characters. Stats: For each stat, please roll 4d6 and remove the lowest roll. You can roll all 6 stats and then rearenge the totals how you want them. If you have any questions or need any hel, i would love to chat with you, so dont hesitate to send me a message.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Account on discord is needed, since that is the main platform for communication as there will be a discord server we play in wiht both information and voice channels. DnD beyond is a easy to use website that can help you make and use your character. And its easy to share your character with me before we play.

What Joseph brings to the table

I enjoy doing voices for most of my characters and love to play it quick and lose with rules. If i find something plausable, in character or creative/funny, then i would let you try doing it. Just be ready to try and explain why you're doing it. I am also totally open for a more serious or tactic-based siege with plans and scheming, but be prepared. For what you do allows the antagonist to do similar or equally creative things.

Homebrew rules

Drinking a potion as a bonus action. Rule of cool and fun is going to be used if you can explain why and how you are doing what you are doing.

Safety

How Joseph creates a safe table

I try to be as open as possible with my players and so if someone gets uncomfortable. i would love for you to type me a short message about what you feel uncomfortable with or any changes you would want to make it a better experience for you and your group. We will also have a short "briefing" where we introduce ourselves and our characters. This is also a golden oppurtunity to make sure all the players around you gets to know what is of limits or how you want to play. After the session i love to recap and debrief with all my players; this is a moment to laugh, reminisce, and look back at your adventure.
