About the adventure
Have you ever watched an anime where an adventurer's guild gets introduced and then is completely ignored? Did you think to yourself, "Wow, wouldn't it have been cool if they'd actually done something with the adventurer's guild..?" Well, want no more! This will be an adventure structured around guild life, ranked missions, anime vibes, and the rule of cool. There will be a lot in the way of combat and plenty of opportunities to show off your build while exploring ancient ruins, ransacking big, custom dungeons, and probably being a menace to a corrupt government official or two. Inspired by modern and old school fantasy anime, alike (think Slayers, Lodoss War, and Berserk as well as DanMachi, Shield Hero, and Goblin Slayer). Everything will happen in a custom setting, on a continent called Mirth that has an epic apocalyptic backstory and a cast of exciting and eccentric NPCs to set up for epic campaigns. This game is welcome to anyone who wants to play Pathfinder 2e for the first time or the fiftieth. If you love Pathfinder's combat, awesome anime fights, and a touch of anime power fantasy, then you're invited to join the Mirth Hero's Guild. Come become the biggest, baddest dude in the room and then make sure everyone knows it! *** Play-by-Post is a low-stress, highly-rewarding format and I love helping people get a grasp on it. Do you want to join a campaign but your availability prevents you from committing regularly? Does engaging at your own pace throughout the week without the pressure of the moment and with consistent Gamemaster support sound like something you'd enjoy. Well you're in the right place! The Play-by-Post (PbP) format is nearly as old as D&D and is a rewarding way to engage in this fantastic pastime. While it is true that the comradery of the kitchen table is lost in PbP, you gain the ability to plan without pressure, to refine your roleplay, to research your actions. Many see Play-by-Post as more immersive than live games, that the Theater-of-the-Mind is more easily engaged without the typical distractions of the table. Expect 1-3 posts a day from me, during the week. That means mechanically or narratively significant posts that move combat and/or the story along.

About me
Hello, I'm Jesse. I've been playing and Gamemastering for 20+ years. I started with D&D 3.0 and have grown with both the Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder environments. I love to explore other systems, as well, and have played more than my fair share of the White Wolf systems (especially, Vampire), The Mistborn Adventure Game and now the Cosmere RPG, Call of Cthulu, and the unofficial Pokemon TTRPGs (Pokemon: Tabletop United and Pokemon: Tabletop Adventures). I've stuck my nose in many others systems such as various GURPS and PbtA systems, Blades in the Dark, and many more large and small games. I haven't picked up a systems that I've been truly unfamiliar with in over a decade. My experience is a spectacular mix of in-person plays with local friends and congoers as well as remote plays via VTTs such as Roll20 and Foundry and Play-by-Post campaigns with online friends and strangers alike. I'm familiar with tools of all varieties and flexible enough to pick up all the new ones as they ship out. I'm always trying to find the right combination for me and my table. I want to add that professionally, my background is in both education and counseling and that you can be comfortable in knowing that I am a well-organized person with both the patience and skills to deescalate and find common ground. Finally, I just want to say that I'm incredibly passionate about TTRPGs and look forward to running some games, and telling some amazing stories with this community.

Creating your character
Characters will be discussed briefly before the game begins to establish balance, difficulty, connections, and any roles that players may want to play. Everything will be built in Pathbuilder and players will all have access to what is available there and on Archives of Nethys.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You'll need an account on Discord and Owlbear Rodeo. The links to those servers will be shared after sign-up, etc.
What Jesse brings to the table
I will be aiming to bring you an exciting adventure that includes intense and strategic encounters, enticing and satisfying mysteries, and a laugh or two. Tone will range from lighthearted to grimdark, based on the groups' preferences and the difficulty can be molded to fit the groups' experiences. Expect for me to put the entirety of my experience GMing and writing into each post.
