About the adventure
The setting of this game will be the world of Palatos, a world in the middle of an arcane revolution. Just 70 years ago, mortals discovered how to distill magic and utilize it for Wizardry. In the last 70 years, Wizardry has become the premier method of magic for the Callath Empire, a continent-spanning empire bent on giving magic to all, at any cost. They are at war with the Aldemar Dominion, an ancient nation of spiritsingers and those attuned with the spirits which lie in every corner of this world. The cosmology of Palatos has no gods and no traditional angels or devils. There are only spirits, naturally occurring and omnipresent in the world. It is those spirits who have given the gift of sorcerous blood, or worked in tandem with mortals to create druidic sects and warlock pacts. You players are all citizens of Honeybrook, a small beekeeping village on the continent of Thraish. This story will follow characters from humble beginnings, who must journey across the lands to try and stop the ever-growing cancer of war and bloodshed where the two forms of magic meet.

Creating your character
For character creation, I want to create characters with you prior to the first session. We will create characters on dndbeyond, and I will walk you through character creation if necessary. Starting level will be level 3.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To prepare for this campaign, you'll need a Discord Account and a DNDBeyond account.
What Eli Hastie brings to the table
I love the Rule of Cool, but only when it serves to enrich the story. Ultimately, I want to tell a story with this game, and so I will bend mechanics if it is for a cool story moment. Otherwise, I try to stay Rules-as-Written.
Homebrew rules
I rule drinking a potion to be a Bonus Action, but administering it to another person to be an Action.

Safety
How Eli Hastie creates a safe table
I think the ultimate method of safety in TTRPGs is communication. This campaign may get intense and horrific, so my ultimate goal is to ensure that everyone is still having fun. After a session, if you have something thematic you'd like removed, contact me and it will be swiftly handled. If a player becomes a problem, and it cannot be resolved with a conversation, the problem player will be removed.
