About the adventure
“At the appointed time, we shall rise from our secret places and throw down the towns and cities of the Empire. Chaos will cover this land, and we the Chosen Servants, shall be exhalted in HIS eyes. Hail to Tzeentch, Changer of the Ways! Njwarr'thakh Lzimbarr Tzeentch!” Power Behind the Throne is the third volume in the Enemy Within, one of the most highly regarded roleplaying campaigns ever written. The Story carries on from where Death on the Reik left off, tasking your unlikely heroes into the halls of power of Middenheim, the Chosen city of Ulric. Amidst the distraction and revelry of the city's carnival, some have decided that the appointed time has come at last! How will your adventurers fare, thrown into a mysterious plot, leading to Verena knows where. Will they too fall to the corrupting powers of chaos? Or will they steady their resolve, sharpen their blades and wits, and seek out and destroy the Enemies within. Note, whilst part of an overarching campaign, Power behind the Throne is also a mostly self contained adventure, so joining at this point will still deliver a fantastic experience. Welcome to the weird, wonderful, and sometimes downright creepy, world of Warhammer Fantasy. We are running this with 2nd Edition Rules [can be supplied]. Back in the 1980’s Games workshop embarked on an ambitious project for their Warhammer Fantasy Role-play game [WFRP], a long running mystery horror fantasy campaign of dark chaos and intrigue. In many ways, they never really completed it, at least not in its original intended incarnation. Despite that “The Enemy Within” has ever since been considered a classic TTRPG campaign. Recently though, Cubicle Seven, have rebooted both WFRP and ‘The Enemy Within’. This time, however, going back to the original writers and designers, they have managed to rewrite some of the rushed parts [that were never really part of the original concept], and produce a completed campaign that more closely resembles the original concept. So whether you are new to Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, or a grizzled old veteran of the Empire, there should be something new here for you. Set in a Renaissance fantasy world, be prepared to fight in the streets, chase across rooftops, dine with the aristocracy, travel by river into strange corrupted lands and far, far beyond.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi, I’m Elwood, a veteran RPG player and GM. I have always seen my role as a GM is to keep all my players entertained and engaged. I have plenty of experience dealing with players entirely new to the hobby, so, you will be in a safe pair of hands if you are just starting out with ttrpg’s or if you have just simply never played any of the games I offer before. [don’t worry, I’ll have you up and running in no time]. I like to add personality to all my characters, both as a player and a GM. I love storytelling. I am also trained in acting, so I like to think my delivery is pretty good. I’m a friendly, easy going GM, who will play fast and loose with rules if that’s what makes the game fun for my players [does not mean I’ll always go easy on you, play your character like a fool, and I will let them die]. Very comfortable running long term sprawling sand box campaigns. But I will happily run one-shots and mini campaigns as well. I currently offer: Runequest Roleplaying in Glorantha [RQG], Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play, [2nd Ed] Call of Cthulhu [7th ed] Pendragon 6th Edition Dragonbane DUNE : Adventures in the Imperium [Modiphius] Dreams & Machines [Modiphius] Stormbringer [BRP] [AKA: Elric! / Magic World] Basic Roleplaying [BRP] The Troubleshooters Traveller Harn, Harnworld [but using the Dragonbane System] Triangle Agency, And more…. I am willing and able to custom-build a campaign of any genre, any multi-genre, or genre-bending concept you have in mind. Whether inspired by film, tv, literature or by some weird dream you had the other night. I would typically make this using either a stable ruleset-toolkit namely BRP [Basic Roleplaying, used for Call of Cthulhu amongst others] I look forward to meeting new players [old or young] and have some fun adventures together. “When it comes to tabletop role-playing games, If you are having fun, you are winning”

Creating your character
Where possible I would help you with character set-up prior to joining a session [though a pre-gen character could be provided short term] By the time it is done you should end up with a really unique and evocative character.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Some knowledge of the era and perhaps some ideas of what sort of character you might want to play would be useful, but not at all necessary. It is fine if you are completely new to the BRP [Basic RolePlay] system, as I can teach you the system as you go and willl provide help and support as l0ong as you need it. A discord account, to allow us all to talk via voice, and a roll20 account to provide a VTT, where needed. [handouts dice rolls etc.] Voice is required.
What Elwood brings to the table
A wealth of material for the Basic Roleplaying System, as well as decades of experience running it. Plenty of additional source material pertinent to the setting.

How Elwood creates a safe table
By default Demon hunters society is set in the 1889; and during this historical period, many people were subjected to prejudice, for either ethnic or lifestyle reasons. While I do acknowledge that these problems existed [and continue to do so], I have no intention of highlighting them in the context of this game. So expect a ‘fantasy version’ of 1880's Japan. There are enough horrors from the beyond, without adding earthly man made ones. We are here to have fun, and get a little ‘creeped out’ in the process.
