About the adventure
The quaint dwarven farmtown of Muramil lies nestled in a fertile valley between rocky hills in the southeast of New Baldaera. Overlooking the town is the estate of the reclusive baron, Lord Thavrus, a war hero from the recently ended rebellion against the Aridanian Empire in 2779 GG; a war which resulted in New Baldaera’s independence. A couple years after the end of the war, the only real way to secure a lasting legacy in this new country is by gaining the attention of the local lord via acts of valiant heroism. Unfortunately for you, there is only one quest left still pinned up at the Rockbottom Tavern and Inn. Guard duty, isn't the most glorious of jobs, but hey, everybody's got to start somewhere. Along your party's travels, they’re set to see the wake of the war, unearth long forgotten magics, and cement themselves as the new blood of the land. Meet the Game Master
About me
Greetings adventurers! My name is LC, and I am an avid lover of board, video, and tabletop roleplaying games. My favorite aspect of being a Game Master is the same reason I got a Film degree and am writing my own book: I love a good story. Back in 2017, when I was first introduced to D&D, it was the unique storytelling potential of TTRPGs that hooked me in. The balance between a player's imagination, the mechanics of the game, and the roll of the dice is why I could never fudge a roll as a player or GM. I play fair because I believe it's this combination of factors conjoined with the personalities of players/characters that make these games perfect for lasting emotional investment, a powerful conduit for joy, and my ideal storytelling medium. Prior to joining StartPlaying, I was the Game Master of 2 weekly D&D campaigns and 1 monthly campaign. Each campaign was 2-3 years of incredible stories and fond memories shared by my players. In addition to those long-form games, over the past 7 years I've run more Oneshots than I can count in both 5.0e and 5.5e D&D. At this point, I know the core rules by heart, so I can focus on providing an enjoyable experience for everyone at the table without having to spend ages flipping through the rulebooks. My priority is to make sure everyone is having fun at the table, and we all walk away having had an experience to remember. So, whether you're a newbie, intermediate, or veteran of the world's greatest roleplaying game, I'm the DM for you.
