About the adventure
In this Dark Fantasy Adventure, players will find themselves unwittingly thrust into a Village under the silent threat of being swallowed by an unknown entity. As part of the final caravan being sent to aide the last stubborn members of a dying town, you are tasked with their safety. But all is not right and as the sun sets, anxiety begins to rise. For it seems the very shadows do not welcome you in this place. Whether you chose to unravel the mystery in front of you, or simply endure whatever may come the choice is yours. Set in the Forgotten Realm, in an uncharted region each decision you make will carry weight into the future as you make your way through this mid-level story. Sure to have your heart pumping with equal measure excitement and anxiety, you and your companions will have to work together to make it through the night to see the morning sun. Roleplay heavy, and with the chance to avoid combat entirely, your words and ingenuity will be your greatest strengths.

About me
------------------------------ "Greetings Adventurers, and am I glad to see you! You see, I have these adventures here, and they are in dire need of some main characters to... stir the pot so to speak. So what do you think? Interested on discovering some new worlds today? Or perhaps you're looking to visit some old familiar places? There will be plenty to chose. So come and sit. There's always an empty seat at my table for you, and the company is grand and waiting!" ------------------------------ Hello everyone, I go by Conri. I will running Modules, Homebrew worlds, and one shot or mini campaigns here through a combination of my Discord Server, and my Foundry VTT server. I've been DM'ing for several years now, and playing for much longer. I consider my knowledge to be Intermediate, as are my skills as a DM. I have a slightly loose structure when it comes to DMing, even when running modules. Rule of Cool is used at this table, as long as it can still fall in the realm of "reality", and am known to change things up when it seems people are just running through the motions or getting bored. I hope to see you there, and safe travels on your Journey!

Creating your character
This game will be hosted through D&D Beyond, so all characters should be created through the site. Upon registration one of the links you receive will be access to the campaign on D&D Beyond. Level 8 characters 5.5e Core and Expanded rules only If you question if something is viable, ask me i'm happy to help. Stats may be rerolled once, but you have to take the second set. If both sets are duds, you may take standard array. Basic starter equipment at creation, there will be a quick gearing up for better things when the game gets underway. Backstory, while not needed, will help. A small regional lore drop will be given to help with this aspect of creation. If at any time you are unsure or would like input, don't hesitate to ask me. I'm usually available and happy to help with character creation.

What Conri brings to the table
I bring a slew of voices, music and immersion to every table, looking to draw in that "living the storybook" feeling as much as possible. When running a one shot, I try to keep anything crunchy to a minimum and avoid long tactics meetings in favor of progression and character expression. This particular one shot will be primarily theater of the mind, with a few supplemental maps just to help you get a feel of the region. Decision making and consequences will for the most part happen in real narrative time, and initiative rarely if ever used. I dislike railroading and taking away player agency, but that being said I do not tolerate repeated disruptions for the sake of a laugh or "its what my character would do" If you chose to ignore the plot and forge your own paths, that is up to you. As are how you handle the consequences of those actions or inactions. And if you chose to do something as a joke, be prepared for the very non-joke repercussions. There is no taking back what has been said out loud.
