About the adventure

The world of Ashara is vast, beautiful, and rife with opportunity both for the natural world and for innovative mortal minds. But this wonder and peace is disrupted by ex-servants of the gods who have dedicated their lives to ruining the world around them in pure spite. Six men with features of animals, six divine beasts, all with unique ways to poison the land. The Bear makes the masses meek and traitorous. The Monkey grows his monastery of hateful soldiers. The Boar terrorizes the countryside with his fireworks. The Stag makes the wilderness as angry as his heart. The Tiger stalks the water for beasts and men alike. And the Wolf cuts down holy warriors in swathes for sport. You and some chosen others have been called upon by the gods, whisked away from where you laid your head last and put upon the path to defeat these evils. You have been called to reach out with the authority of the divine to slay what was once divine. You have been given the duty of the Hand of Heaven - to grab these divine beasts by the scruff and show them might doesn't always make right, but it can certainly displace terror at its source.

About me

Since I started playing tabletops I've loved all the joy it brings people at a table. It's like going through a fantastical novel with a group of like-minded lovers of adventure! I've been GM-ing for about 10 years, and every session is worth the memorable experiences that I hope both I and my players receive.

Character creation

Creating your character

You can make any character you like, with the setting in mind of course. It's very Wuxia inspired. This campaign benefits from characters who are driven by righteous morals, justice, vengeance, and/or glory.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We use Discord for voice (no video required). That's free, but our tabletop, the Draw Steel Codex, is not. It's 19.99 on Steam and similar services, and it's made by the Draw Steel creators. If you do end up sticking with the campaign, in addition to your first free session, you can get another as well to cover the cost of Codex if you don't already have it prior to the game - I believe it's worth the price, so I'm happy to facilitate a newcomer getting it as they come into this game.

What William brings to the table

I try to provide everything I would want from the other side of the table; I like a balanced experience with a bit of everything. Tactical combat, interesting characters, a living world to be a part of...I love it all and I want to provide everything I can to my players. Aside from what I hope for, I can provide music, a virtual tabletop for tactical situations, and the best of my narrative skill to make a story worth being a part of.

Homebrew rules

-If there is a feature you get no use out of (as in it hasn't benefited you at all) and you could have chosen something else, you can swap it out at the end of the session for a different choice.

Safety

How William creates a safe table

We're all coming to the table to have a good time, and part of that is an open narrative about what people want and don't want to see. I make it clear that the door is open both in terms of discussion and your ability to leave for any reason, whether it be a personal emergency or otherwise. Life comes first and I'm sure I'll say it many times but we're all here for fun.
