About the adventure
In this Japanese medieval fantasy themed campaign, you have been transported to the Masked Theater, a mysterious place filled with faceless wooden puppets. You are given a mask, and, when you don it, you are possessed by the character in the play "Hyakki Yagyo" which you will be performing. Learn about the world of Yugen and navigate its war-torn lands. Battle the many yokai lurking in the shadows. Play as reflavored classes like shrine maidens, ninjas, samurai, and more. Discover the phantasmal tale of the Night Parade of the a Thousand Demons and the origin of the enigmatic Masked Theater.

About me
I started playing TTRPGs in middle school with my dad playing D&D, and I haven't been able to stop since. I began running my own game with my friends while I was still in high school, and I am still playing in that campaign today. Outside of TTRPGs, I have two published short stories, and I'm working a script for a Fire Emblem-style video game.

Creating your character
You will be making one character sheet for two characters, the actor and the character. You may wait until Session 0 to make your character. We will be starting at level five, using standard array. You may use whatever online character sheet you wish as long as you send me the link. Please read "The Masked Theater and Yugen" document before creating a character.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a Discord and Owlbear Rodeo account. You may use any online character sheet.
What Jase brings to the table
I will be streaming music via screen share to set the mood for each scene. We will be using a virtual tabletop for combat and exploration. I prefer to have combat be on the harder side but not too difficult. I usually stick to the rules but may go with a different ruling every now and then.
Homebrew rules
Consumable items are a bonus action to use. If you roll a critical hit or failure, you will roll on the corresponding table to get a random effect. Death saves and failures reset after stabilizing.

How Jase creates a safe table
During Session 0, we will go over specific topics that will come up over the course of the campaign and make sure everyone is comfortable with them. There will also be a Lines and Veils channel in the server. After session, we will take a minute or so to debrief. You may send X, N and O's may be typed in the VC chat.
