About the adventure

You're a newly licensed mech pilot on Polvorín, a desert colony world where a powerful corporation controls the jobs, the land, and the local government. Most people here have learned to keep their heads down. You just climbed into a giant robot for a living, so that's not really your style. Lancer is a sci-fi tabletop RPG about mech pilots in a future worth fighting for. The setting is honest about how hard things are and serious about the idea that clever, capable people can change them. This campaign is designed for beginners. Rules, character creation, and mech customization are all covered at the table. No experience needed. Polvorín sits at the edge of everything: corporate reach, frontier wilderness, and a political situation that is one bad decision away from getting much worse. The people here are building something despite all of it. Your contracts will put you in the middle of that struggle, working for an outfit that takes the jobs nobody else will touch and turns them into something that matters. The odds are not in your favor. Prove them wrong, Pilot.

About me

Hi, my name's Zed, artist, graphic designer and Forever GM with 8 years running under his belt. Originally I started running D&D 5E, like a lot of people in the current TTRPG landscape, ran a few campaigns, decided to switch it up with other systems that had caught my eye, so I went towards Pathfinder 2e, then hopping into Cyberpunk RED and subsequently going from interest in World of Darkness to running a few sessions and left wanting more. My Cyberpunk RED journey proper, after running a small game for my table, was playing in a table hosted through here, so this platform has been in my eye for a while now, two years if I'm not mistaken, and it's been a blast! I would like to give the same opportunity for other players to enjoy the same experience I did, and I'd be honored to be the one to take you there! There's lots of systems that I have in my eye, but regular time constraints and lack of table time keep me to the table I've been with for a while. I have GMed for many different people with different perspectives and experiences, following different themes and settings (one of my tables was run entirely in a personal homebrew world, actually!), so I feel I have a decent handle on giving the right atmosphere for each game I run!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be referring to the materials available for players in COMP/CON, so preferrably have an account set up for that.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You'll need a Discord account, a COMP/CON account and an Owlbear Rodeo account.

What Zed Huff brings to the table

I like to give detailed explanations and setting descriptions to help you paint a picture, but I will also take up some visuals to compliment things. Background music and occasional soundboards will also make presence to help get the feel of a scene. Most of my roleplay and general non-combat work will take place in the Theatre of the Mind, still focusing on putting you as players in the scene. Combat will take place on maps

Safety

How Zed Huff creates a safe table

A Lines and Veils Document will be provided and will be obligatory for you to be integrated into a table with a player group role. If you join right before the start of the first game session, I will provide a link to a session in a Deck of Player Safety link, sending the L&V document after session. The X,N & O's will be available on the VTT, available for use at the discretion of any player, to be used responsibly.
