About the adventure
Magious Reborn: Threads of the Fates 🌍 A Long-Term D&D 5e Campaign, Levels 5–20 The heroes gave everything... and it wasn't enough. The world was shattered. For generations, it could no longer support life. Over thousands of years, it slowly healed. As life became possible once more, the gods reseeded the land, and civilization began again. The Adventuring Guild became the shield protecting ordinary people from the monsters, ruins, and wild places beyond the safety of the cities. Life continued. People rebuilt. History moved on. But history doesn't always tell the whole story. The Threads of the Fates are moving once more. Where they lead... is up to you. ⚔️ Where Legends Failed... This campaign begins at Level 5, after your characters have proven themselves as capable adventurers. You've survived your first missions, earned the Adventuring Guild's trust, and made a name for yourselves. Now the real adventure begins. Together we'll defend cities against impossible odds, explore places untouched since the world was shattered, build uneasy alliances, uncover secrets history forgot, and stand against enemies working to finish what was started thousands of years ago. Every mystery uncovers another. Every victory opens the door to a greater challenge. Every choice shapes the future of the world. 🌟 What You Can Expect ❤️ A Story Built Around Your Characters Your backstory isn't something you write once and forget about. It's something we'll explore together. Whether you're chasing redemption, searching for answers, protecting someone you love, or finding your place, I'll do my best to make your story feel like it belongs here. ⚔️ Combat That Matters Expect tactical encounters where teamwork, creativity, and good decisions matter. Sometimes your goal is defeating the enemy. Sometimes it's protecting people, holding a bridge, recovering an artifact, or surviving long enough for help to arrive. 🧠 Creative Solutions Welcome I love it when players surprise me. If you come up with a clever plan, I want to see where it goes. Rule of Cool has a permanent seat at my table. 🎭 Roleplay with Consequences The people you meet will remember you. Friends may return when you need them most. Enemies you spare might too. Your choices matter, and the world will change because of them. 🌍 The World Doesn't Wait Kingdoms grow. Villains make plans. Whether you're there or not, the world keeps moving. 🎲 Is This Campaign Right for You? You'll probably enjoy this campaign if you like long-term character growth, rich roleplay, memorable NPCs, tactical combat with meaningful stakes, ancient mysteries, forgotten ruins, teamwork, and building a story you'll still be talking about years from now. If you want your character to grow from a proven adventurer into a legendary hero, I'd love to tell that story with you. The heroes of old couldn't save the world. History remembers their sacrifice. What will it remember about you?

About me
Heyo! My name is Aaron, and I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons for 26 years and running the game for 25 of those years. I started in AD&D 2nd Edition and have run 3rd/3.5 Edition, Pathfinder 1st and 2nd Edition. I currently run D&D 5th edition. I love running campaigns and building stories with my players that will be remembered and talked about for years to come. My normal style is to go with the "Rule of Cool" and focus on rules as intended play-styles. I can't wait to help you bring your next story to life. Make sure to tell me where you heard about me!

Creating your character
Character creation will be handled before your first session. For new campaigns, we will cover character creation together during a free Session 0. For players joining after the campaign has started, I will schedule onboarding before your first game so we can build or review your character together. Characters will be created on D&D Beyond using my shared campaign resources. I have a D&D Beyond Master Tier subscription and will provide the campaign link after you join the Discord. This campaign starts at Level 5. For ability scores, we will use Standard Array. I currently run D&D 5e using the 2014 ruleset. Official 2014 D&D Beyond character options are generally allowed, but I ask that you check with me before using setting-specific options, unusual races, optional rules, homebrew, or third-party material. My goal is to help you make a character you are excited to play while making sure they fit naturally into the world of Magious. If you already have a concept, great! If not, I am happy to help you explore classes, races, backstory ideas, and party roles during onboarding.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should complete the following before their first session: Create a free Discord account You will need Discord installed or available in your browser. A microphone is required, preferably a headset or earbuds to reduce background noise. Join the Discord server I will send the Discord invite after you join the game. We will use Discord for voice chat, announcements, scheduling, and between-session questions. Create a free D&D Beyond account Characters will be managed through D&D Beyond. I have a Master Tier subscription and will provide a campaign link so you can access shared character options. Create or review your character with me For new campaigns, we will do this during Session 0. For players joining after the campaign has started, I will schedule onboarding before your first game. Foundry VTT We will play on Foundry VTT. You do not need to buy Foundry or create a paid account. I host the game and will provide the invite link. A desktop or laptop is strongly recommended, and Chrome usually works best. Test your setup before game time Please make sure your microphone works, you can access Discord, your D&D Beyond character sheet is ready, and you can open the Foundry link before the session starts. We can schedule out time to make sure any issues are addressed Optional but helpful: A webcam, if you are comfortable using one. A notepad, either paper or digital, for personal session notes. A basic character concept or backstory idea. It does not need to be fully written, just enough for us to start building from.
What Aaron brings to the table
I will provide the tools, resources, and support needed to play. We will use Foundry VTT for the game table. I host the server and provide the invite link, maps, tokens, lighting, walls, ambient sounds, music, visual effects, and other tools needed for online play. You do not need to purchase Foundry. Characters will be managed through D&D Beyond. I have a Master Tier subscription and will share a campaign link so players can access my available D&D Beyond resources. As a GM, I enjoy a mixture of roleplay, tactical combat, exploration, puzzles, and story-driven choices. I like combat to feel meaningful, not just like enemies standing in a room waiting to be defeated. Some fights may involve protecting NPCs, surviving long enough for help to arrive, holding a location, disabling a dangerous magical effect, or making hard choices under pressure. I generally run with the Rule of Cool while still respecting the rules of D&D 5e. I focus on rules-as-intended play rather than trying to exploit technical loopholes. If a rules question comes up during play, I will usually make a ruling to keep the game moving, then we can review it after the session if needed. I try to bring important NPCs to life with voices, personality, goals, and artwork when available. I do not expect players to voice act unless they want to. Finding your character’s voice can mean speaking in-character, describing what they say, or simply explaining what they are trying to do. My goal is to build a story with the players. I want your characters to matter, your choices to have consequences, and your backstories to have a place in the world. Expect a welcoming table where creativity, teamwork, character growth, and a little bit of shenanigans are all part of the adventure.
Homebrew rules
I use light homebrew, mostly to support story, pacing, and player creativity. The core rules are still D&D 5e, and I will explain any campaign-specific mechanics before they matter. Potions: Drinking a healing potion yourself can be done as a bonus action. Giving a potion to another character takes an action. Heroic Inspiration: Players can hold up to 3 Heroic Inspiration at a time, and unused Heroic Inspiration carries over between sessions. I award Heroic Inspiration for strong roleplay, creative thinking, heroic choices, great teamwork, or memorable character moments. Rule of Cool: I enjoy creative solutions and cinematic ideas. If you want to try something clever, I will usually try to find a fair way to let you attempt it. That does not mean every idea automatically works, but I want players to feel rewarded for engaging with the world. Rules as Intended: I generally run rules-as-intended rather than rules-as-exploited. If a rules question comes up during play, I will make a ruling to keep the game moving and we can review it after the session if needed. Campaign-Specific Items: This campaign includes homebrew magic items, fate-bound relics, class stones, and story rewards tied to character growth. These will be explained clearly as they appear. Death Saves and Critical Hits: Unless a specific creature, spell, or story effect says otherwise, death saves and critical hits use the normal D&D 5e rules. My goal with homebrew is not to make the game more complicated. It is to make the game feel more flexible, cinematic, and responsive to the characters.

How Aaron creates a safe table
Player safety and comfort are important parts of my table. For new campaigns, we will cover safety expectations during Session 0. This includes tone, table conduct, player boundaries, character conflict, PvP expectations, romance boundaries, horror themes, and how intense players want the game to feel. I use Lines and Veils so players can tell me what content should not appear in the game, what content should fade to black, and what themes are okay in moderation. These boundaries can be updated at any time. I also use X, N, and O Cards during play. X means stop or remove the content. N means slow down, reduce intensity, or steer away. O means this is okay and can continue. Players can use these tools by voice, Discord message, private message, or whatever method feels most comfortable. No one has to explain why they are using a safety tool. If something needs to stop, we stop and move on. I also use the Open Door policy. Players are always allowed to step away from the table if they need a break. Real life, comfort, and safety come first. After emotionally heavy scenes or intense sessions, I will check in with the group. Aftercare may be a quick table check-in, a Discord message after session, or a few minutes to decompress out of character. My table is LGBTQ+ friendly, neurodivergent-friendly, and beginner-friendly. I expect players to treat each other with respect, share the spotlight, and remember that we are all here to tell a fun story together. The game may include danger, tragedy, villains, loss, and difficult choices, but the players themselves should feel safe, respected, and welcome at the table.
