About the adventure
A new age has begun. In the world of Renametra, the First Era ended with Sanctity’s Ruin: a devastating war that saw gods fall silent, devils invade the mortal realm, and entire nations break beneath the weight of survival. Now, in the 55th year of the Second Era, the world is scarred but alive. And it is ready to be explored. This campaign invites you into a fantasy setting where the map is expanding, airships are changing travel forever, old kingdoms are rebuilding, and new peoples are stepping onto the world stage. The known world is no longer enough. Benevia rises as a fresh continent full of promise, Calbala looms as the Land of the Giants, and Gleanmar calls to those seeking revenge, reclamation, or answers. Your character can come from familiar fantasy roots or from one of Renametra’s many unique peoples. Expect exploration, faction intrigue, dangerous travel, strange cultures, moral choices, and heroic action in a world where every adventure can become part of history. Well hello! Name's David - SideQuestNPC on almost everything online. Coolest nerd you'll ever meet and, oh yeah, I'm a proud Forever DM. Throughout the years I pursued a career in filmmaking, a dream from my early teens. I've also done loads of Youtube content creating, live streaming on Twitch & YT, podcasting, writing, improv, and voice acting. Now that I've reprioritized what I want to do for a living, I've really come to realize that DM/GMing really flexes all my talents and interests into one role that I truly get a tremendous amount of joy and fulfillment from. Creating your character
Character creation is the most exciting first step into the Realms of Renametra in this new era. There are more species to choose from than ever before in this setting. A guide for those joining will be provided as a reference and first glance into the many, many options. From there each and every player will work with me, the DM, on their perfect character in this sprawling setting in their own personal channels on the server.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All games, especially PbP games, are played via on Discord. More specifically our excellent and still growing community server - SideQuestRPGs. Players will need to be able to access Discord text channels. As well as a D&D Beyond account. Once given the campaign link players can dive into making their character alongside guidance with myself on matters such as stats, backstory, and so on. Then players will also gain access to the Virtual Tabletop (VTT) Owlbear Rodeo for scenes and scenarios, especially battles, and witness the map to properly witness everything.
What SideQuestNPC brings to the table
Every player will be given a personal channel that will work in tandem with the other necessary channels for the game to be played out within; such as a Main Scene, Split Scenes/Party, and maps. A Guide to Renametra is available to download and reference not only during character creation but also throughout the campaign with a full glossary.
Homebrew rules
Flanking and doubling dice damage for crits are the most used house rules in my games.

How SideQuestNPC creates a safe table
With the inclusion of a personal channel that is only shared with the player and myself, this creates a safe place for players to reach out to me for anything at all. I practice an open door policy with players and hope they would not hesitate to message/approach me with any issues they have. I also have Content Consent forms I save and reference for campaigns as well as constant check ins as to their Stars and Wishes for their character.
