About the adventure

Welcome to Waterdeep, the Crown of the North, where a wondrous tale of urban adventure is about to unfold. Our story begins with the gathering of adventurers at the Yawning Portal Inn and Tavern. Volothamp Geddarm, the famous explorer and raconteur, has a quest for them — one that entangles the characters in a bitter conflict between two nefarious organizations. If the adventurers complete his quest, Volo rewards them handsomely. Yet a much greater prize lies hidden somewhere in the City of Splendors, waiting to be claimed. Note: At the completion of the adventure, any players that wish to carry their characters on, we will then begin Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage. You are not obligated to play past the end of Dragon Heist, so feel free to join only for that. Step into a world where your character is the story — their choices shape the future, their past haunts the present, and their dreams drive the action forward. My games are designed for players who crave narrative depth, rich character arcs, and the freedom to make meaningful decisions. Whether you’re a seasoned roleplayer or just discovering the magic of tabletop storytelling, you’ll find a game that’s built around you — your motivations, your relationships, and the legacy you want to leave behind. Each campaign I run is set in a vibrant, reactive world — every setting is alive with politics, danger, mystery, and opportunity. The tone leans cinematic: dramatic, emotional, sometimes dark, but always driven by the characters at the table. You won’t find rigid rails or scripted outcomes here — instead, the story evolves organically around the choices you make and the relationships you build. My style favors roleplay and character development, with just enough rules to keep the action tight and the stakes high. Combat is fast-paced and cinematic, but never overshadows the heart of the game: who your character is, and what they’re willing to risk for what matters most. If you’re looking for a game where your character’s story matters, where every session deepens the world and your place in it — welcome. This world is waiting for your story.

About me

Looking for immersive, character-driven adventures where your story takes center stage? You've come to the right table. My games are all about you — your character, your choices, your journey. Whether you're a battle-hardened warrior chasing vengeance or a curious mage uncovering ancient secrets, the world will bend, shift, and react to your actions. I bring the setting to life with rich lore, dynamic NPCs, and high-stakes drama — but you bring the heart of the story. I believe in collaborative storytelling where every session feels like a chapter in a gripping novel — one that's co-written by the players themselves. Expect meaningful consequences, evolving relationships, and emotional moments that linger long after the dice stop rolling. This isn't a GM railroad or a rigid module; it's a living world shaped by your character’s goals, flaws, and triumphs. Whether you're new to TTRPGs or a seasoned adventurer, I create a welcoming, inclusive space where creativity thrives and characters grow. So grab your dice, step into a world that reacts to you, and let’s craft a tale worth telling. The spotlight’s waiting — what story will you write?

Character creation

Creating your character

Players can create characters either before or during the free session zero. Once they join the Discord server, they will have full access to me to ask questions and help hammer out details. All D&D 5e character stat methods are allowed (rolling for stats, point buy and standard array).

What to expect

Preparing for the session

In order to get ready for the game, you should make sure you have or create free accounts on Roll20, D&D Beyond and Discord. Make sure you have a working microphone and headset or earbuds.

What D&D With Dad brings to the table

We will have a free session zero to discuss everything about how we run the games, choosing styles and options, and creating great characters. My games are focused on deeply immersive storytelling in conjunction with the players. As a voice actor, I love bringing characters and locations to life. This is augmented with scene images and background music. I like to break immersion as little as possible and allow the players to be the stars of the show. We run very much rule of cool - if you have a great idea, we will find a way to make it work. I'm rules light and try to not let the mechanics get in the way of the story. Players will also be able to continue the roleplaying between sessions in dedicated RP channels on the game's discord server. There are also plenty of channels for sharing and interacting both in and out of character.

Homebrew rules

ASI and a Feat At level 4, 8, 12, 16, and 19, when a player gets the opportunity to choose between adding 2 to their ability scores or a feat, I’m letting them add 1 to an ability score and choose a feat as an option. Bonus Action Consumables You can self-administer consumables as a bonus action, instead. This only applies to consumables that confer a positive benefit, such as a repair kit or medpac. Giving a consumable to another person is still an action. Better Health Potions: Health potions now heal a base of 1d4+6 when used as an action. If used as a bonus action, you must roll the standard 2d4+2 Deeper Progression: At character levels 5, 10, 15, and 20, each PC may acquire proficiency in a skill or tool, or expertise in a skill or tool they already know. If they choose a new proficiency, they may also learn a new language. Additional Feats: At character levels 7, 13, and 19, each PC may acquire an additional feat. (This is a mandatory feat, you cannot take a +2 in its stead) All homebrew rules will be available in the Discord server.
