About the adventure

In a sandbox world built from "Dr. Dhrolin's Dictionary of Dinosaurs" and inspired by Dinotopia, all have lived at peace for more than an age. There is just one problem - the prophecy. What it means is uncertain, but the "when" is imminent. Join in a puzzling adventure to unearth ancient secrets, stop power-hungry mages, and save the continent from the calamity that threatens it. This is the perfect campaign to try out a goofy build and 3rd party content (including Dr Dhrolin's 6 dino-inspired species), and it is great for both new players as well as experienced players who want something unexpected.

About me

I've been playing 5e with other systems scattered in since 2020, and GM'd a homebrew game since 2022, completing the campaign after 2 1/2 years. I am married to another GM and raising a youngster who is as nerdy as we are.

Character creation

Creating your character

Level 3 characters will be created prior to the first session in the campaign on D&D Beyond. All official material will be available, and homebrew or third party content may be chosen if approved. Both point buy and standard array are accepted, selecting average health when leveling up (the automatic option in D&D Beyond). Chat will be used on Discord to communicate with other party members prior to the game start as well as in between sessions. Additional players may join in future sessions after the campaign begins.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Free accounts or higher on Discord and D&D Beyond will be needed. Links to join the campaign will be sent out upon signup. Discord will be used for private text chat and "session 0" discussions, as well as for voice and optional video during the game. D&D Beyond will be used for character sheets, dice rolls, and maps.

What Jessica brings to the table

Rule of cool always is #1 at my table! I voice characters as much as possible and highly encourage role-play. Atmospheric music will be used at thematic moments. This setting is built on the Dr. Dhrolin's Dictionary of Dinosaurs worldbook in D&D Beyond and located in a world inspired by Gaelic and Norse mythologies.

Homebrew rules

Potions for yourself are a free action, feeding a potion to another is a bonus action, but choosing to use a full action on a potion guarantees the full effect.
