About the adventure

Welcome the world of Delta Green. You ARE the Conspiracy. As Agents, you will be brought in to investigate the unusual, identify if it's unnatural... and then make sure no one else finds out about it. This is a one-shot, meaning you will be just doing one mission and that should take us 1-2 sessions (3 hours or so each session) to complete. We'll discuss / handle scheduling the possible second session at our first meeting. Delta Green is a horror TTRPG where you portray people from all walks of life who are drafted into the mission to keep the rest of humanity safe. It is scary. It is deadly. And the less you know, the better off you are. Surviving is victory alone. You will need every skill you can imagine to bluff your way out of tough spot, change bank records to falsify data, or hack into a secure system. And what is the truth? It's best you never know, because it will ruin your life. If you've played Call of Cthulhu or Mothership, this is in the same vibe, but with a central mystery around the horrifying thing causing it. While the thing that threatens us is your mission, it's the Agents and and those they love that are most in danger. Can you save the world while still saving yourself?

About me

I've always enjoyed the rise and fall, the highs and lows, the victories and defeats, in stories. As a reader and writer as far back as I can remember, I fell into a world and went on an adventure with those characters and then inevitably, a new world would come along and I'd go follow them... Later in life, I became an improviser. The spontaneity of both the creator and the audience to create a similar story was always a thrill. TTRPGs, for me, feel very similar. Whether as player or GM, we are telling an improvised story together. We are creating it as we go and who knows what'll happen! It, for me, is a pure exercise in storytelling. Let's create a story together!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will have a session 0 as part of our first session. I will have resources to build a characer in advance, if you so choose, but you can also wait until our first session to make any final changes. I have all the Delta Green assets via Roll20 and a character builder link to share as well.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We will be using Zoom for audio and video. I will be on both, you just need to be on audio. We will use Roll20 for character sheets and other info, which you get a link to in advance.

What Chris McGowan brings to the table

There will be music played through Roll20 for atmosphere. Delta Green has short, intense combat, which will likely happen in our time together, but very rare. The game is rather rules light, so we will stick to it, but the game is very narrative and mystery-centric. It is likely that not all Agents will survive, so if you wish to prep a back-up character, even for our one-shot, that's great!

Safety

How Chris McGowan creates a safe table

We will discuss content warnings at the start of our first session, as well as implement the X, N and O system (which is also in Roll20). Delta Green is a horror game, so intense content is always veiled, but topics may come up and you can let us know in the moment to move on from those situations, if they come up.
