About the adventure

A Tactical, High-Octane Lancer Campaign for both beginners and experienced players. Welcome to the frontline, Pilot. Lancer is a tactical tabletop RPG of mud, lasers, and high-stakes mech combat. If you’ve ever wanted to pilot a customized, multi-ton war machine through a crumbling urban warzone, this is your game. This campaign is a two-part epic designed to take you from a fresh-faced rookie to a hardened veteran. We begin with Operation: Solstice Rain, where your squad executes a chaotic orbital drop into a sudden planetary conflict. Your mission: rescue a lost diplomatic team and extract them. Once the smoke clears, the story continues into Operation: Winter Scar, expanding the horizons of the conflict and raising the stakes to a planetary scale. Lancer is famous for its deep, rewarding tactical combat, and this campaign is designed to showcase those strengths. Because Solstice Rain is an introductory adventure, our early sessions will be heavily focused on the combat grid. This is the perfect environment to get comfortable with the game's mechanics, learn how your mech moves, and figure out how your squad can work together to win. But you won't just be rolling dice in a vacuum. While the action is intense, I will be injecting roleplay along the way wherever possible. You’ll engage in military briefings, negotiate with factions, and develop your pilot's personality between firefights. As we transition into Winter Scar, the game relaxes a little bit. The gameplay shifts to a more even balance, opening up more paths for exploration and narrative choices, however there is still no shortage of fierce mech combat. Who Is This For? Brand New Pilots: Never played Lancer? Perfect. This campaign is explicitly built as an introductory experience. I will help you build your mech and learn the rules. Tactical Wargamers: If you love XCOM, Battletech, or deep tactical RPGs where positioning, cover, and clever builds matter, you will be right at home. Action-Movie Fans: If you want a cinematic story where your choices in the cockpit dictate the fate of a world, strap in. The grid is set. The reactors are priming. Choose your frame and lock in your loadout. Its time to get to work, Pilot.

About me

I'm Australian and in the 40+ age bracket. I have been DM'ing for 10 years now, fully completing a number of both D&D 5e & Lancer campaigns, along with other systems along the way. My RP'ing of NPCs is usually more along the humorous lines, but my battles are still challenging and the campaign BBEG still remain deadly serious. My games have a high production value to them, meaning I enjoy using polished maps and enjoy implementing animated character cut scenes and hype music that trigger on player crits.

Character creation

Creating your character

We'll create our characters over Discord. We'll be starting at LL0 with a choice of frames from the Everest, the Sagarmantha and Chromolunga. Don't worry if none of that makes sense, we'll go through it together.
