About the adventure

Welcome to the Northlands! In this frozen winter waste, people have hardened just to get by. Bigger beards with even bigger muscles, bigger boats with even bigger oars. This nation requires everything you have so you can be the best Viking you can be. But something even worse is coming along and it will take only the best to uncover the truth. That is where you come in! You will play adventurers dragged into the coming problems by the god, Loki. You will need every skill you have if you want to make sure this nation stays together. Along the way you will have to: • Scale Yggdrasil, the World-Tree, and survive the frosts of Jotunheim. • Rally a defense against an army of giants and the dreaded Cult of Ragnarok. • Race against the coming apocalypse and stop the release of the dread wolf. Will you be able to fight all of this or will your blood stain the snow red? Only you know!

About me

Hello adventurers! My name's Jacob and I've been running TTRPGs for over a decade with three years of experience full time GM-ing. With a long background in theatre as well as a former designer of escape rooms, I bring a wealth of experience to every game I run. My focus is on making a fun and satisfying story regardless of player history with the game. No matter whether your characters are trekking through a mountain pass, exploring the furthest reaches of space or even attending a spooky summer camp, you should be experiencing a well crafted adventure you will never forget! I also bring an attentive eye to representation within the game space. As a former organizer and field director for numerous political campaigns, I have fought for this first hand and will not let it go unnoticed in my games. There is a wide spectrum of games I have played and run varying from DND (5e and 3.5), Pathfinder (1e and 2e), Doctor Who, Kids on Bikes, Honey Heist, Mutants and Masterminds, Call of Cthulhu, Wet Hot American Summer, Everything Is Dolphins, Fallout RPG and much, much more. I look forward to crafting unique gaming experiences in these wildly different worlds exclusively for you.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will happen as part of session zero. I would highly recommend preparing a few ideas for characters but we will be doing the character creation together. There will be effectively no limits on species choices, though we always default to whatever the most recent publication is if there are multiple options.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

The game will be done over Discord, DND Beyond and Owlbear.Rodeo so a functioning internet connection, computer and microphone/headset is highly recommended if not absolutely necessary. Dice can be done either digitally or using your own physical dice.

What Jacob Cordas brings to the table

I will bring a deep love of the lore, an unmatched experience with the system and an affection for making every adventure perfect for each player. Moreover as a lover of Nordic folklore, I will bring a sense of connection to the material hard to be found anywhere else.

Safety

How Jacob Cordas creates a safe table

This campaign is filled with the grandest of epic actions. To make that as much fun as possible, safety is of the utmost importance. We will first do a full session zero where players will fill out the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist. From there, we will use a variation of the X, N, and O Cards called Yellow/Red Cards and an Open Door Policy while we play. Finally the game will feature a regular scheduled mid-game break to aid with pacing and avoid bleed.
