About the adventure

A strange corruption is spreading across the island of Obojima. Spirits have begun vanishing from sacred places. Ancient relics from the “First Age” awaken in forgotten ruins. Travelers whisper of ghost lights moving through the tall grass at night, and entire villages report dreams of a distant song carried on the wind. In this heartfelt mini-campaign, you’ll travel across the island aboard spirit trains, wandering caravans, tiny fishing boats, and rusted relics of a forgotten age. Along the way you’ll brew magical potions, help quirky locals, encounter bizarre creatures, and uncover a mystery that threatens the balance between the spirit world and the waking world.

About me

Heya, welcome in! I've been a GM for about 8 years now and I'm looking to play with groups of committed and fun-loving players! I balance both roleplay and combat equally and love playing out new and interesting scenarios! Communication and inclusivity are always extremely important at my table, as I want to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for myself and my players to have fun. Character creation

Creating your character

If you feel comfortable, feel free to make your own character beforehand, using either the "4d6 drop lowest" or "point buy systems", just let me know which you are going with before you build! Otherwise I am also available over Discord to discuss any character or backstory details once you join the game! Here is the House Rules document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qAzLqNq_grZ1DVo9DQCmQPn61cn2hKdOEXQaANsZiPk/edit?tab=t.0

What to expect

Preparing for the session

⦾ All players require a microphone to participate in sessions, along with a Discord account. ⦾ Rules research is not required but encouraged. ⦾ A free D&D account

What Ryley brings to the table

⦾ Discord server set up for this campaign. We will be using it to communicate during the game along with sharing world details, lore, or other campaign info throughout the week. ⦾ Prepared game maps either sourced from the books or purchased from artists online! ⦾ I will be providing music and ambiance through a discord bot while running each session. ⦾ And finally, my passion for creating an immersive world for everyone and working together to make this an epic adventure.

Homebrew rules

This campaign will be mainly 2024 5e but I do allow some hybridization with 2014 subclasses and spells, just because I don't want to limit player options too much! Here is the House Rules document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qAzLqNq_grZ1DVo9DQCmQPn61cn2hKdOEXQaANsZiPk/edit?tab=t.0

Safety

How Ryley creates a safe table

Before we start, I will send out a Lines and Veils document to complete before the session. I add those to my master notes to make sure I can foster a comfortable space every session. Along with that, I have a weekly Stars and Wishes document that I review after each session.
