About the adventure
Eldenrose is a homebrew world that is designed for a mostly sandbox experience. Players will start anywhere from level 1-3 depending on player preference in a starting town, and from there, the world is at their disposal. There are grand stories to be experienced as you level up, but they are completely dependent on where you choose to go and the choices you make along the way. Your backstories and the choices you make will shape the world into a unique experience for your party; I wonder what kind of campaign we'll make together! If you want to start your own shipping empire? Done. Want to spend a few weeks working security for travelers along the desert roads? Sure. This is Your Story, and you can play it Your Way.

About me
My great love is writing. All of my games take place in a homemade world that is largely sandbox. While I do enjoy modules, I enjoy the creative process and prefer to homebrew most of my campaigns and 1-shots. The 1-shots I do take place at different points during the world's history, so if you're interested in joining a campaign but want some hands-on experience in the world or to see some of my DM style, those are a great place to start. While I certainly have homebrewed the world, items, and even some class/subclass options, I don't like straying too far from the established DnD rules, so it won't be a massive shift. All of my games are based on DnD 5e, though I am still new to it as most of my time was spent running 3.5 games. The most important thing for me is bringing an adventure to players that they can have the freedom of choice in. While my campaigns do have a number of stories that can be told and lead up to high level finales, you can take any number of paths to get there. If you decide to take some time off from adventuring and open a trade business in a major city, that's something you can do, and I'll support your decisions and choices to the best of my ability.

Creating your character
All characters will be created in a session 0, starting at levels 1-3. You can use whatever medium you like to create your characters. As long as I know what you're playing and have at least pictures of your character sheet, do as you will. Whether it be DnD Beyond, roll20, an online character sheet, or pen and paper, you are free to create your character the way you want.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a mic and Discord for voice communications, and roll20 for the gameboard. Character creation will occur before the session in whatever method you prefer.
What Richard Purdy brings to the table
I want to create a comfortable environment that feels more akin to a home game. Dice rolling is enabled on DnD Beyond, roll20, and if you have physical dice, you are free to use those as well. These will operate on a trust system, so you can roll privately and say what you have rolled.

How Richard Purdy creates a safe table
If there is anything causing discomfort for players, I can be contacted privately, and we will quickly move away from the issue. Concerns can be brought up in Session 0 for topics that players would like to avoid from arising during play.
