About the adventure

The boundless waves of Aquanum teem with life blessed by the Seven Seastones, and they are your home. You are a Merfolk from the sea of Cancera, living in the city of Staghorn when news from the capital arrives; high king Agassiz has taken ill, and is not expected to live to see another month. Panic has begun to spread throughout the countryside; many remember the days before Agassiz's rule, when war ravaged the land as the seven kingdoms clashed. Alarmed by these sudden developments and duty bound to serve the high king by accord, the church of Brinthara, guardians of the Elkhorn Emerald and keepers of the peace, have sent out a call for adventurers to protect their speaker on their journey to the capital in the hopes of quelling this rising conflict. That is where your journey begins; Guardians of the Speaker, will you journey to the capital of Reefhaven in time to divert the tides of war on the horizon? Can you bring harmony to the seven kingdoms before it's too late? Or will a wave of disaster shatter this fragile peace against the rocks? Let us play to find out together, daring deep dwellers.

About me

Howdy doodle! My name is Jolene. I'm a 22 year old college English major, writer, and an avid GM! I've been playing TTRPGs for over ten years now, when a very excited twelve year old me started attending DND sessions at my local game store. Since then, my passion for the hobby has only grown as I've experienced all sorts of different systems with my friends over the years. Some personal favorites are Fabula Ultima, Lancer, and Girl By Moonlight. In terms of other interesting stuff about me, I have a pet chinchilla named Shadow, I'm a trans lesbian, I have far, far too many plushies, and I hope to be a writer some day. My favorite game series is Xenoblade Chronicles, and a lot of my games draw inspiration from it and other personal favorites. My favorite character who I've ever played is probably Three, my Shifter Barbarian from a Dungeons of Drakenhiem campaign I played years ago. They were a magical experiment fighting to free their family from the mad scientist who created them, and they also allowed me to explore gender in a really important way at a really crucial time in my life. I'll always remember them and their journey fondly for that. Other than that, I don't really know what else to say about myself, other than that I hope to meet you in one of my games! ^-^

Character creation

Creating your character

During session 0, we will create your characters, NPCs related to your character, and bonds. Before session 0, think about what sort of undersea life your character might be inspired by, and what sorts of classes could fit that. Get creative! There's a whole ocean of possibilities.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please have: - A quiet place to play and an internet connection. - A Discord account. - A reliable microphone (A webcam is not required.)

What Jolene brings to the table

I will bring... - A Discord server for our game. - A Foundry VTT server. - Music for ambience. -The Project FU module for Foundry.

Homebrew rules

I will be using the Fabula Ultima quirk system, as I find it creates interesting roleplaying and story opportunities.

Safety

How Jolene creates a safe table

- Once you've joined the Moonfrog Games Discord server, you will be provided with the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist, which you will fill out to help me figure out how best to keep sessions comfortable. - The letters X, N, and O will be used for their respective cards in chat messages. If you are uncomfortable putting this in the general chat, please DM me the card, and I will respond to it as quickly as possible. - Bio breaks will be scheduled about half way through the session, so about an hour and a half in, though will be open to being requested to be earlier if needed. - Stars and Wishes will be performed at the end of session to help guide the campaign to where the players want to go.
