About the adventure

The Blazing Citadel. A monument to control, subjugation, industry and destruction. You are a group of sellswords, hired to find Meldreth, the brother of Yenevieve, a wealthy tiefling - your benefactor. He disappeared decades ago, but she has heard rumours that he may have fallen into the clutches of a malicious, fire worshipping cult. You have tracked this cult down to their home base - the elusive Blazing Citadel. The real mission starts now. This dungeon crawl campaign will be set in the Blazing Citadel - a maze of alluring temptation with dark deeds lurking behind every corner. Your ultimate mission is to destroy the fire cult and put an end to their wicked rituals. You will face traps and solve puzzles that are intricately designed to immerse you in this fiery temple. Engage in punishing combat with sinister cultists - all the while, uncovering the secrets and mysteries of the evil Cult of the Undying Light.

About me

My name is George. I am a GM that has run everything from funhouse dungeons, to political intrigue; from psychological horror to epic fantasy and everything in between! My worlds are uniquely customised. They reflect a rich tapestry of the fantasy properties that inspire me, from official and third party D&D 5e material to television shows, novels and videogames. I believe a balance of excellent storytelling and game mechanics is the foundation of any great TTRPG and try to implement this principle into all of my games. I always love learning new systems and I am excited to expand my gaming horizons! I am based in Exeter, United Kingdom and also run online games. My table is a safe space for kind people, excited to jump into the worlds I have created.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be creating characters during Session 0 on Fantasy Grounds, but feel free to have a concept in mind beforehand. We will be using Point Buy to generate stats. Most official published material will be allowed, but some things may be subject to DM approval, as will any third party material or homebrew. All characters will start at Level 11.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please download Fantasy Ground Unity and make sure you have access to Discord. You will need a stable internet connection and a clear microphone.

What George Bradley brings to the table

I will provide a fun and safe environment for my players. I will bring a wide range of NPCs to interact with, with varied character voices and multi-dimensional personalites. There will be high stakes tactical combat and puzzles to solve. I have maps that I have custom made for the adventure. I will use D&D 5e rules to facilitate an enjoyable experience - with some added homebrew rules for flavour.

Homebrew rules

Drinking a potion is a bonus action - administering one is an action. We will use Flanking, but it gives a +2 to hit instead of Advantage. Any NPC that is fighting on your side in combat will be controlled by a player with the statblock provided by me. Dropping to 0 hit points will not make your character literally unconscious in order to give the players and characters a bit more agency in those, potentially final, moments.

Safety

How George Bradley creates a safe table

My table is a safe, fun and will be a very LGBTQIA+ friendly environment. There will be no tolerence for discrimination or disrespect for your fellow players. If there is any topic that you want to make sure will not be included in the game please let me know. I will be sending out a Consent Checklist beforehand, but they don't always cover anything, so please let me know if there is anything you may be concerned about. We will have a Session 0 to go over the themes and likely content for the game, as well as to create characters and discuss homebrew, my DM style and the expected tone of the game. During each session we will take a 10 minute break to refresh our bodies and minds before diving back in. After every few sessions we will have a quick debrief to check in with how the campaign is going for you and to see if there are any tweaks that could potentially be made to make things even better.
