About me

Hi! I’m Susann, a DM who first and foremost believes the best stories are the ones we build together. I've been DMing D&D 5e (2024) for over two years now, and more recently I've fallen in love with running Nimble, a fast, tactical system that gets you straight to the good stuff: meaningful choices, snappy combat, and characters who feel powerful from session one. I run both systems regularly and am happy to chat about which might suit you best. While I love a good plot twist as much as anyone, my true joy comes from facilitating stories rather than writing them. My goal is simple: portray a world that reacts to your choices, celebrates your chaos, and gives your characters the adventures they deserve. In my in-person home game my PCs are exploring Gullet Cove as awakened animals (Animal Adventure Campaign Setting from Steamforge Games) and are facing all types of different challenges from evil Rat Kings looking to overthrow the city to trying to establish a downline in a very lucrative triangle of trust. You might have the pleasure of seeing one of my pets in the background of my webcam (yes, I like play with video on). I have two cats - who both only have one eye.

Character creation

Creating your character

You will use one of the 4 premade heroes at level 1. They are designed to be easy to pick up, giving a small flavour of the class and introducing the rules gradually without being overwhelming. 🗡️ Kessa Quickstep, The Cheat. A sneaky, backstabby, scoundrel. Learned the basics of survival by lifting purses in the city streets, until a retired thief offered lessons in stealth and subtlety. 🏹 Thorne Underbough, Hunter. A determined tracker and survivalist. Grew up roaming the woods, learning how to track game, tend to wild animals, and identify native flora. 🧙🏼‍♂️ Virel of the Ember Eye, Mage. A brilliant spellcaster and scholar. Dismissed from the academy for asking too many forbidden questions, Virel turned to arcane study with more curiosity than caution. ⚔️ Caldra Brightward, Oathsworn. An honorable protector. Caldra spent her youth hammering out nails and horseshoes, until one day she forged her first blade and swore to use it to protect the weak.
