About the adventure

Across many worlds, old ruins, hidden dangers, and long-buried secrets wait to be uncovered. This campaign is built for players who want a classic D&D adventure with real stakes: dangerous places to explore, strange threats to survive, mysteries to unravel, and a world that grows larger the deeper you go. Some jobs begin small. Others open doors better left closed. Over time, what first looks like ordinary adventure starts to reveal a much bigger pattern. This is a multiworld campaign, so the scope can grow far beyond a single town, dungeon, or kingdom. Expect a mix of exploration, discovery, faction tension, travel, and hard choices, with each adventure connecting into something larger. The tone is serious adventure with room for humor at the table: ancient ruins, dangerous enemies, unexpected allies, hidden motives, and the constant feeling that there is always more going on beneath the surface than it first appears. I run games with a balance of roleplay, combat, and problem solving. I like when players ask questions, make plans, test ideas, and approach problems creatively. Choices matter here. The world responds, factions react, and not every problem is solved by walking straight at it with a sword. At the same time, this is still D&D, so there will absolutely be monsters, bad decisions, close calls, and moments where everything goes sideways. This game is great for players who want an adventure that feels reactive and lived-in. New players are welcome, and experienced players will have plenty to dig into as the mystery deepens and the stakes rise over time.

About me

Hi! My name is Angelo. I’m a GM who loves bringing people together to tell great stories, make questionable decisions, and have sessions people keep talking about afterward. I love running games that feel welcoming, immersive, and easy to jump into, whether you’re brand new to tabletop RPGs or you’ve been playing for years. I like creating a table where players feel comfortable getting invested, trying bold ideas, and having their choices influence the world we play in. I enjoy helping new players learn the game without making it feel intimidating, and I love giving experienced players meaningful challenges and memorable moments to work through. For me, tabletop games are one of the best kinds of storytelling because everyone at the table helps shape what happens. My goal is to create games that feel fun, collaborative, and alive, with enough structure to stay smooth and enough freedom for players to surprise me.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will happen before session 0. Stats will be decided with Standard Array or Point Buy, whichever you feel comfortable using. Starting at level 1. We will be using DndBeyond for character creation. For the beginning, stick to 2024 PHB, 5.5e core and expanded rules. There will be multiple parties as the game progresses so you will have multiple characters throughout, each gaining more options.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

There will be a Discord server for the campaign and we will be using AboveVTT. There is a free Chrome and Firefox plugin that is needed for the VTT to connect to DndBeyond.

What Angelo Martelli brings to the table

I run immersive, player-driven games with clear structure, meaningful choices, and a strong balance of roleplay, exploration, and tactical combat. My goal is to make the world feel alive. NPCs have their own motives, the setting reacts to player decisions, and success usually comes from good planning, and teamwork. As a GM, I use music and atmosphere to support the mood, and I enjoy giving NPCs distinct personalities when it adds to the scene. I usually stay close to the rules, but I am not rigid for the sake of it. If you have a clever idea that fits the situation, I will usually work with you rather than shut it down. I want combat to feel dangerous and exciting, not slow or repetitive. I am happy to teach the game, answer questions, and help players feel comfortable. If you want a table that is immersive, organized, reactive, and rewarding to engage with, that is the kind of game I aim to run.
