About the adventure
You and your fellow players are elite Lancer Academy alumni; for your first field operation you're recruited as Union First Responders investigating a distress beacon from the Forward Research Outpost Heliconia. The beacon came following a direct, unprovoked attack on the outpost by unknown assailants; mass casualties were reported, and communications with the outpost have been lost in the interim. Heliconia is home to a Union far field research team who operate a vital and highly-classified habitability study on the remote jungle planet Caiman-3. As first responders, you're tasked with supplying medical and operational assistance, in addition to your regular duties supporting the security force and gathering intelligence regarding the attack. Over the course of this campaign, you'll gain access to: ⚙️ 50 unique pieces of pilot gear 🤖 Exotic weapons & equipment to customize your mech 💰 Manna, the Lancer in-universe currency 🏬 A shop to spend it in! 🗺️ Custom, hand-drawn tactical maps 🎭 Lots of opportunities for roleplaying!

About me
I'm a chef who got into TTRPGs to unwind from my day job, now I'm working to make TTRPGs my day job too!
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
I'm a strong, lifelong believer in collaborative settings, so we'll create characters as a group in our session zero, using COMP/CON—Lancer's official online character creator. You're welcome (and encouraged) to work on character ideas ahead of time, but session zero is where we'll bring all the final details together as a group! A handful of pre-generated characters will also be available—just shoot me a DM if that's more your jam and we can figure out which one suits you best! I'll provide a link to all campaign-relevant content, as well as easy instructions for installing those files into your personal version of COMP/CON. As new recruits, we'll be starting at LL0!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To play in this campaign, you'll need: - Accounts & Programs: Discord, Owlbear Rodeo - A reliable internet & audio connection - At least passing familiarity with the Lancer RPG setting (seriously, go check it out—it's cool) and the most-basic gist of how to play - A collaborative, enthusiastic mindset! And while I do favour the occasional public, in-app roll for the sake of dramatic tension, I'm also huge on using physical dice at the table. For Lancer, that generally means a d20 and a handful of d6s, so feel free to break out the dice bag!
What forlackofabetternerd brings to the table
To recap: over the course of this campaign, you'll gain access to: ⚙️ 50 unique pieces of pilot gear 🤖 Exotic weapons & equipment to customize your mech 💰 Manna, the Lancer in-universe currency 🏬 A shop to spend it in! 🗺️ Custom, hand-drawn tactical maps 🎭 Lots of opportunities for roleplaying! I'll include a google drive link for all the accepted LCP files, so you can take full advantage of the extra mech and pilot gear! As a player, expect a mix of intense tactical combat peppered with roleplaying scenes that influence how the future unfolds! I'll be giving you lots of room to choose how you want to align yourselves with various factions, or create your own entirely new faction to capitalize on the emerging chaos and come out on top. You'll also get a set of community discord server channels devoted exclusively to your game—I like to do occasional "office hours" to answer questions and work on character/plot developments!
