About the adventure
π Now recruiting adventurers! π "The November Company is a chartered guild that trains and registers adventurers for the dangers ordinary people cannot face alone. When roads grow dangerous, ruins awaken, caravans vanish, or something old and hungry crawls back into the world, local guards and militias are rarely enough. That is where adventurers come in: flexible problem-solvers willing to step into the unknown and return with answers, survivors, or at least a good story." This 5-hour Learn to Play D&D session is designed for brand-new players, curious first-timers, and returning players who want a refresher in a friendly, guided format. You do not need to know the rules ahead of time, and you do not need to bring a character. This game is built to teach you everything you need to get started. The session is split into two clear parts. The first 1 to 2 hours focus on character creation and Roll20 training. We will build your adventurer together and go over the basics of the game in plain language: what the numbers on your sheet mean, how dice rolls work, how turns function, and how roleplay, exploration, and combat feel in play. I will also walk you through Roll20 so you know how to use your sheet, roll dice, move your token, and follow the action online. The final 3 hours are a complete one-shot adventure made up of mini-adventures, interludes, and training missions. In the story, your characters are literal new adventurers reporting to the November Company to be trained, assessed, and officially ranked. You will face short field assignments that test teamwork, courage, creativity, and quick thinking. Expect a mix of social scenes, exploration, problem-solving, and beginner-friendly combat. During the session, your character will also level up once, so you can experience how advancement works and feel your adventurer grow stronger before the day is done. The tone is welcoming, adventurous, and instructional. Think of it as your first day at adventuring school, with a little danger mixed in. Questions are encouraged, mistakes are part of learning, and every player will have room to participate. By the end of the session, you will have created a character, learned the fundamentals of play, completed your first adventure, and leveled up once with the confidence to join future D&D games.

What Cobalt Robot brings to the table
I provide a welcoming, beginner-friendly game that teaches D&D through play without overwhelming new players. Expect guided character creation, Roll20 onboarding, and a one-shot built to introduce roleplay, exploration, teamwork, and combat. My style is cinematic and imaginative, with a mix of theater of the mind, Roll20 maps, ambient music, and light character voices to help the world feel alive. For this one shot, combat will be approachable rather than highly tactical. I start with the rules as written so new players learn the game first, but if a Rule of Cool moment makes the scene better, Iβm happy to lean into it.
