Welcome, adventurers! I’m PalindromeRPG, aka Paul Savas, a seasoned Game Master with a passion for storytelling, creativity, and fun! With nearly 30 years as a professional theatre practitioner (although have recently hung up my last costume) and a lifetime of Dungeons and Dragons experience. I’ve been GMing since 2018 and GMed my first session on SPG on January 4th, 2025. My games are all about fun and engaging adventures. I love creating worlds that are rich in detail, filled with intriguing NPCs, and brimming with both silly and serious moments. Whether it’s an epic quest to save the realm or a hilariously chaotic goblin pie-eating contest, I aim to challenge my players with a mix of intense encounters, strategic combat, and delightful roleplay opportunities. Creating your character
Along with safety tools you will receive information about the unique setting and how we will create characters. We’ll finish creating characters together during our Session Zero, starting with a brief overview of the unique setting, how you might find yourself there, any info from the safety tools, and gameplay style. You may use any published Dungeons and Dragons player options including Legacy options or solely 2024 options. We’ll keep things streamlined by sticking to official content (no homebrew content). If you have questions about this or wish to use 3rd party content it is best if you reach out about that prior to the Session Zero so I can give your request the time full consideration requires. We’ll roll stats at Session Zero, using the classic 4d6, dropping the lowest, so you can assign abilities that fit your character’s concept and bring your ideas to life. Part of the fun will be working together to craft relationships and reasons why your characters are adventuring as a group. You’ll bring a rough backstory to session zero, and perhaps change it based on other player's input. We'll see how it develops over the course of our journey!

What PalindromeRPG brings to the table
For this game, we’ll use Owlbear Rodeo as our Virtual Tabletop (VTT) and Discord for voice and video (you can keep your video off if you prefer). As a lifelong theatre professional, I’ll bring NPCs to life with unique voices and personalities, making each encounter memorable. My background in storytelling, tension-building, and character development ensures a vibrant, immersive atmosphere. You can expect a mix of character-driven drama and epic moments, with an emphasis on collaboration and shared storytelling. I’m all about the Rule of Cool over Rules as Written, and the focus is on having a blast together. Combat will be intense but fun, and you can count on me to make every session feel like a dynamic adventure!

How PalindromeRPG creates a safe table
Before Session Zero a Lines and Veils and a Checklist will be sent to all players. I will present the lines and veils and any info from the checklist that is important for everyone to know in order to inform their backstories. I am available outside of session time for players who might want to check in between sessions. During sessions, players can use the direct chat, if something is concerning.
