About the adventure

This is a pure dungeon crawl—exploration and combat only. No social scenes. No side plots. No long conversations with NPCs. The dungeon opens, and the action starts immediately. From the first step underground, it’s constant pressure. You’ll push deeper, fight harder, and make fast decisions with real consequences. Think of it as a multi-round arena, but instead of waiting for the next fight, you must find it, survive the hazards between battles, and decide how far you’re willing to go before your luck runs out. There is no long rest. You may attempt one short rest, but that may give the monsters a chance to regroup. Fail, and the dungeon does not wait for you. Resources matter. Spells matter. Hit points matter. The story is simple: kick open the door, kill what's inside, and take it's stuff. The dungeon does not explain itself, and it does not care why you’re there. Treasure, danger, and discovery lie ahead in equal measure. This game is fast, lethal, and focused. If you want nonstop action, meaningful exploration, and old-school risk where every choice counts—step into the dark.

About me

I've been a game master since 1984. I have run D&D, Space Master, Shadowrun, Call of Cthulhu, and Paranoia. I wrote and published my own game system (Paradox RPG) in 1996. I write my own adventures, as well as adopt and modify existing adventures. No two of my games are ever the same. I do this for a hobby. I do this for the love of the game. I would love for you to join me.

Character creation

Creating your character

I will have all the resources and information necessary to create your character listed in my discord server. We will create the characters in D&D Beyond and import them into Foundry. I will launch Foundry VTT 30 minutes prior to game start and give a quick tutorial on how to use Foundry prior to starting time.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Participants should have the following items: 1. Microphone (a laptop mic suffices in a pinch). 2. Discord account (it's free—utilized for game planning and voice/video chat during the session). 3. Webcam (optional but encouraged!). 4. D&D Beyond Account (it's free—utilized for building characters).

What Faight brings to the table

A virtual tabletop experience with Foundry VTT that includes elements such as music, animated effects, and maps and assets from creators I subscribe to or created myself with various tools like Inkarnate. A wide variety of character creation options in Foundry, including the core rulebooks and many expansions.

Homebrew rules

1. All healing is a bonus action, including items, spells, potions and abilities 2. Up to three potions can be stored in a bandolier. Potions in a bandolier can be drunk as a bonus action. 3. You start the session with one Inspiration Die (free re-roll). 4. Character’s who fail a fear check roll (2d6) on the following table to determine how they react to that fear: [2] Fetal Position: The character attempts to protect itself by falling into a fetal position (incapacitated). [3 - 5] Fawn: The character begins to grovel and beg for mercy (prone). [6 - 8] Flight: The character immediately expends all possible movement in order to flee the area. [9 - 11] Freeze: The character is immediately stunned (stun). [12] Fight: The character flies into a terrified rage, attacking the closest thing to them.

Safety

How Faight creates a safe table

This is a fantasy adventure, so the bad guys will do bad guy things. Your characters will be confronted with unsettling situations and empowered to overcome them. There will be no gratuitous engagement in these topics, but they will arise. I am happy to take breaks and use tools like "Fade to Black" to reduce any discomfort.
