About the adventure
The Tournament of Monsters is a Monster Collector game where players are "Trainers" who can build custom monsters to participate in different games with unique battlegrounds. Trainers risk the death of their monsters in "Rank" games, but with each victory, their Monster gets more powerful. The Game World is similar to Pokemon, in that, Monsters are a part of the world, except they aren't wild, but rather, genetic experiments that have become common. People breed big strong, humanoid creatures to help with chores and farm labor, in place of traditional technology. However, the Monster Battles have become the #1 most watched sport in the world! Now, the International Monster Fight League is gearing up to start qualifying events, including traditional battles, skill contests, and endurance tests. Each event gives or reduces points, and the minimum must be met to move on to the next qualifying round, eventually leading to Finals, where the world's deadliest monsters go toe-to-toe! GURPS is a unique Point-based system that will allow players to build any Monster they can dream of, including monsters that can fly, breathe fire, teleport, super strength, invisibility, infared vision, mind control, etc. Knowledge of GURPS is not necessary, as a Monster Building Guide will be given to ensure every player has a chance to understand how to spend their precious points. Players will later get a chance to build multiple monsters that will work in concert, or as replacements, as Monster Death is likely throughout the campaign. However, there is a limit and penalties to your Monsters dying, and thus, you must be careful to adapt quickly. If you'd like to play this game at a different day or time, please feel free to message me! About me
I am a longtime TTRPG GM that loves Pathfinder & GURPS, with a large library of books, art assets, and time to share with my players, it is my favorite thing to do. I am a huge fan of roleplay and often modify mechanics to benefit storytelling & session fluidity. I use Foundry VTT, which is free to my players, and includes vast customization options for every campaign & every participant. Please take a look at this Google Sheet for all of my GURPS games: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OIi-Yp_5L2k4LvJ_L-YxgZ_YF7QIsZr4h0PIoit8fKM/edit?usp=sharing

Creating your character
Characters will be made in GURPS Character Sheet (GCS) a free program with a large database of character-building assets. The Trainers are made with 150 Character Points, -40 Disadvantage Limit. They will gain points sparingly as the game progresses. The Monsters will start with 100 Points and a list of preset Disadvantages. They will gain points regularly as the game progresses. Each player will get a chance to consult with the other players in the Discord server, but ultimately will end up making their Trainer and Monsters with the GM, before their debut on Session 1.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Have a Discord & Forge Account, as Discord is used for all communication and The Forge is used to host the Foundry VTT game. Both accounts are free to make and maintain. Players should also read GURPS 4th Edition Basic Set, Chapters 1 - 4 to learn how to make an average character and monster. Additional reading ideas will be provided during the character-making process as well as during the Session 0.
