About John
I am a longtime TTRPG GM that loves Pathfinder & GURPS, with a large library of books, art assets, and time to share with my players, it is my favorite thing to do. I am a huge fan of roleplay and often modify mechanics to benefit storytelling & session fluidity. I use Foundry VTT, which is free to my players, and includes vast customization options for every campaign & every participant. Please take a look at this Google Sheet for all of my GURPS games: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OIi-Yp_5L2k4LvJ_L-YxgZ_YF7QIsZr4h0PIoit8fKM/edit?usp=sharing

How John runs games
My GMing Style is certainly leans more Theater of the Mind, while still using maps, art assets, and tokens. I don't love walls, lighting, and automation, is what I mean by this. I love character-driven storytelling where anything can happen, which is helped by my Rule-of-Cool policy. The idea is to have a great time, not adhere to the rules written by a wage slave at some company somewhere. I love Roleplay above all, then Intrigue like Puzzles, Riddles, & Mysteries, and finally, Combat, which I always try to make less crunchy when I can. The fluidity and enjoyment of the session is my goal, and I am in a constant desire to keep balance while opening up the opportunities to do things that video games and other restrictive media just cannot. My favorite type of game is Realistic, even in Fantasy or SciFi settings, like having wounds get infected or worrying about sustance while trapped on a desert planet. I do not always do Realistic, usually marked with the "Survival" tag on my games that do, but even if it isn't "Realistic" it is always going to feel real. What I am by this is, I hate enemies that fight to the death or allies that stick by you no matter what. I like a Game World that feels real and has consequences, like time passage, relationship changes, and the need for adaptation during conflicts. I like my evil emperor to have a "human" reason for being evil, and creating a World where the hero has to wonder if they are going to lose?

John's ideal table
My table is like a friends hangout, where I am hosting and storytelling and my players ask questions and tell me stories back. All kinds of players fit well at my table, except those who take themselves too seriously. General vibe can be summed up as "who here wants to have some fun?" with an emphasis on humor, or in a darker game, just enjoying each other's choices.
