About the adventure
A group of adventurers travels to the frontier town of Phandalin, expecting a simple job escorting supplies. Instead, they find the region tangled in bandit activity, political tensions, and rumors about a long-lost magical mine. About me
Hey! I'm a Game Designer and an educator with over 6 years of experience in this field. I've also been playing and GM-ing Dungeons & Dragons 5e for about 6 years now. I have experience running short & long campaigns, one-shots, anthology-adventures, and even West Marches. My focus in D&D is to find a balance among Exploration, Combat, and Social Interaction. I try my best to achieve that with efficient preparation paired with skilled improv. Also, I'm brutal with combat if players are looking for a challenge :)

Creating your character
Welcome, adventurer. Before you step into the world of Lost Mine of Phandelver, take a few moments to shape who you are and what drives you. - Start at Level 1 using standard Dungeons & Dragons 5e rules (2014). - Choose a race and class that feels exciting to you—don’t overthink optimization; play something you’ll enjoy. - Give your character a simple backstory: Why are you on the road? What are you looking for—gold, redemption, knowledge, or something else? - Add one personality trait and one flaw to help guide your roleplay. - Keep it simple but meaningful. - Consider how your character might work with a group—this is a cooperative story, not a solo journey. If you’re new, don’t worry about getting everything perfect. A clear idea and willingness to engage matter more than detailed mechanics. Character creation help will also be available on Discord, so you won’t be figuring it out alone. 🧭⚔️

What Anay Kharade brings to the table
At the table, I place a strong emphasis on bringing the world to life through its characters. Every NPC you meet will be roleplayed with intention—I use distinct voices, mannerisms, and perspectives to help you clearly differentiate who you’re speaking to and to make each interaction feel grounded and memorable. Combat is designed to offer a fair but meaningful challenge. Encounters won’t be arbitrary or overwhelming, but they will require attention, teamwork, and thoughtful decision-making. Your choices—both in and out of combat—will have weight. In terms of style, I lean toward immersive storytelling balanced with player agency. I respect the rules of Dungeons & Dragons, but I’m open to flexibility when it enhances the moment. If something is creative, fits the fiction, and adds to the experience, I’m willing to lean into it—provided it doesn’t break the game. Overall, you can expect a game that values character, consequence, and collaboration—where the world reacts to you, and your story is shaped by the choices you make. ⚔️🧭

How Anay Kharade creates a safe table
Creating a space where everyone feels safe, respected, and able to engage fully is a priority. Before the game begins, we’ll have a Session 0 where we align on expectations—tone of the story, boundaries, character concepts, and how we want to play together as a group. This is also where we’ll clarify table etiquette, communication norms, and ensure everyone is on the same page before stepping into the world. I will also be sharing a Lines & Veils document via Discord. This allows everyone to clearly communicate content they want completely avoided (Lines) and content that can exist but stays off-screen or fades out (Veils). You’re free to update this at any time—comfort isn’t static, and the game should adapt accordingly. During play, if something ever feels off, you can message me privately or speak up at the table—no explanations required in the moment. The goal is simple: a game where everyone feels safe enough to participate and comfortable enough to enjoy it. 🧭
