About the adventure

This short, six-session D&D campaign explores a ruthless and high-stakes chapter in Exandria's history: the decades-long brutality of the Scattered War, the conflict that ultimately defined the Tal'Dorei Empire. Your character's survival is never guaranteed in this dramatic, political, and action-packed campaign, where the fight for destiny demands extreme sacrifices. Each session features a significant time jump, plunging you into a new and crucial historical event, from tense negotiations to the heart of the battlefield. The outcome of your choices, and even a single roll of the dice, will directly affect the following chapters of the campaign. You will join a pivotal rebellion, fighting alongside a legendary historical figure, to forge your own bloody legend in the annals of Exandria.

About me

I've always loved the fantasy genre, and the first story I fell in love with was about the legends of King Arthur and Merlin. I've enjoyed it all and I love it. Then I discovered Dungeons and Dragons, not so long ago, and my love for the genre went to infinity. I've just started playing D&D and DMing, so I'm still learning from my mistakes and successes. I believe that the best way to do that is by playing with other people. So if you're interested, we can have some fun and go on an adventure.

Character creation

Creating your character

Once I've provided the players with sufficient context about the setting, we'll begin playing. Character creation can take place during session 0, before, or after, but definitely before the first official session. Since this will be a very short campaign and the overall objective will be established from the outset, I don't see the need for players to assign their characters a campaign-long goal, such as "find the man who killed my father" or "find the ancient, long-lost treasure." The game rules will be based on the 2014 5E version, which will allow us to use all classes and subclasses available in Exandria lore at that time, including the original class, the Bloodhunter. This also applies to species, where the only ones available will be those canonically introduced in Critical Roleplay. For example: - Veldakens and Simic Hybrids, or any variant thereof, have not been canonically introduced by Critical Lore. On the other hand, Leonines can be used, since there is a canonical species called Kataris that can represent both Tabaxi and Leonines. The standard matrix system will determine skill scores. The starting level is 1; players will progress up to level 6. This way, beginners can learn what I consider the game's fundamentals and how to level up their characters.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

What August Sanoja Palazzi brings to the table

Safety

How August Sanoja Palazzi creates a safe table
