About the adventure

Heroes of the Borderlands is a modern remake of one of the most famous D&D adventures ever published: The Keep on the Borderlands. It’s designed for lower level characters and built specifically to teach brand new players how to play. Our adventure will begin with your characters being tasked to infiltrate the caves of chaos and root out the cause of evil that has begun to spread in this region. There will be dangers ahead, but also rewards of treasure and glory for those who succeed. What will you get in this game session? Step-by-step teaching: I will explain the rules as we go. You don’t need to know anything before session one. A safe, fun environment: No gatekeeping, no pressure. Just play. Cinematic combat: You’ll fight goblins, bandits, and worse. Every battle feels like a movie moment. I’m a teacher and GM. I know how to explain the game clearly, keep the pace moving, and make sure everyone has fun. This adventure is built for beginners. You don’t have to learn a ton of rules beforehand in order to play. Just bring your imagination.

About me

👋 Hey there! I'm a GM who absolutely loves running games. With five years of ttrpg experience under my belt, including three years as a GM, I bring a ton of enthusiasm and know-how to every session. I'm originally from Scotland, but I've been living in Japan for over a decade, working as an English teacher (sensei). My Japanese isn't perfect, but I get by just fine. I often play online games with fellow expats and run games in Tokyo. Because of the time zone difference, I might take a bit longer to respond, but I always try to reply as quickly as possible via SP or my discord server. For me, clear communication is key. I think most issues can be sorted out by talking things through, so I always offer a short, optional review session after each game. Before we dive into a one-shot, adventure, or campaign, I make sure to explain how everything will run to keep things smooth and fun for everyone. I look forward to rolling some dice with you!
