About the adventure
Rumors abound throughout Phandalin and the wider Sword Coast region that a young, white dragon has taken up residence in the crumbling ruins high on Icespire Peak. Stories of brutal attacks are growing up and down the Triboar Trail, north to Neverwinter Woods and south along the mountain range, as a giant creature destroys life and property wherever it goes. Others whisper about orc numbers increasing in the region as raiding parties have increased over several weeks. Everyone wants to be there hero, to have a chance to tell their story. In this customizable campaign, you are calling the shots! In this duet style play by post, you and I will work together to tell your character's story as you answer the call for help from the Phandalin townsfolk, alongside NPC's that we will work together to bring to life.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hello! I'm Britt. I delved into tabletop gaming during COVID and never looked back. I've been Game Mastering since June 2021, and I started playing in September 2021. I'm well-versed in D&D 5e and am learning Daggerheart, along with other table top systems. My tables are welcoming spaces for everyone, regardless of age, race, gender, or experience level. I've hosted games for players ALL ages with the youngest at 6, from newcomers to veterans. They're always LGBTQ+ friendly, and my pronouns are she/her. In our games, we come together to weave stories, and I'm here to facilitate that. Whether it's a one-shot or a mini-campaign, players drive the narrative, and I'm here to guide and enhance their storytelling. We play on Roll20 and use Discord for voice communication. Character creation, if needed, can be done on D&D Beyond for easy access to resource books. Feel free to share any homebrew ideas; we can create the perfect character and story together.

Creating your character
Using the D&D Beyond link, you will have access to a wide selection of species, classes, backgrounds, and feats to create the perfect character. Stats are rolled - 4d6 and drop the lowest - with these two caveats: - if two stats are below 10, you may reroll both and use the stat of your choice. - if three or more are below ten, you may reroll the whole group and use the stats of your choice. There are new/updated backgrounds within the 2024 rule set, but if something listed doesn't fit, we can expand to the old rules or other third party/homebrew options as necessary. **Species limitations** Not open for use - centaur, alseid Open to discussion - Space/Ethereal and Fey species
What to expect
Preparing for the session
As this is a play-by-post, your most immediate need will be access to Discord (free account) and D&D Beyond (free account). Familiarity with 2024 rules is helpful, but not necessary. As the GM, I will help keep us on track (or adjust) as we go. For character creation, D&D Beyond is where your character will be built and I will incorporate your backstory and NPC's whenever possible. Family, friends, old boss, a childhood enemy, that crush you are afraid to talk to, the best friend you can tell anything to...you get the idea. I am here to help you fill those gaps in as we prepare. Additionally, part of character creation will be goal setting - short, mid, and long term. These will be woven into the larger story, helping to tie your character into all that is happening in the region.
What Britt S. brings to the table
You will have a dedicated Discord Category in the server with channels for general chat between us out of session, an "In Character Chat" channel with separate threads to help track days/encounters, as well as "Maps/NPC images" channel for visual aids. My games are run Rules as Written for with a heavy dose of Rule of Cool. If you have an idea, I want to hear it!
Homebrew rules
**NOTE - if the players can do it, so can the enemies!** Flanking: Players must be on opposite sides of the enemy for advantage on their attack Potion Consumption FOR YOURSELF: Using your action allows you to gain the max benefit of the potion. You can opt to use your bonus action instead and roll for the healing instead. FOR OTHERS: This will always require an action and the healing will need to be rolled. Critical Hit Modification: On a critical hit, roll 1 die and then add the max damage for you damage die. ( e.g. 2d8 damage: 5 (rolled)+ 8 (max) = 13 dmg.)

How Britt S. creates a safe table
For initial planning, a Discord call or dedicated time to chat for a session zero will be scheduled, allowing us to go over the character and backstory/NPC creation, details for this module, house rules for game, safety tools and their use, and anything else that may come up as we get your story ready.
