About the adventure
Set in the fantasy kingdom of Galir, which is prosperous in all aspects except one; the nearby goblin nation of Baris. The severity of each goblin attack seems to grow each time, just as the amount of reprieve in between the attacks shorten more and more. With the kingdoms more well known warriors, mages, and the like busy with missions of war and diplomacy, the king has enlisted you to protect the kingdom, by leading planned sieges against the goblins. In exchange for each successful siege, the king promises to reward you with power, wealth, and- once the nation of Baris finally falls- a favor of your choosing. This is a pretty simple and decently combat heavy campaign. Themed like a normal fantasy setting, you and your party will launch attacks against the kingdom to defeat as many goblins as you can, or at the very least cripple their forces and supplies before they can launch a retaliatory attack against the kingdom or call in any of their goblinoid allies. In spite of the combat focused nature of this campaign, there will be moments of diplomacy, espionage, and moral conundrum here and there for interest. While the most straightforward answer would be to, well, slay the goblins, opportunities for more creative solutions(such as inciting a rebellion) will be present. If the party decides that massacring an entire nation of goblins too daunting, infiltrating the nation and bringing it down from the inside will work just as well.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I have over 6 years of experience GM-ing, across multiple systems. I got into the tabletop world via D&D, and since then I've honed my craft as much as a can with systems like Blades In The Dark, CAIN, Vampire: The Masquerade, and more. I tend to go for more story driven games, where other themes like combat and exploration are used to add depth. Two of the things I value most in a game is freedom and the a good player backstory, one that I can interweave into the world itself.

Creating your character
Characters will be created before the first session(via d&d beyond), and will start at level 3. Stats will be decided by rolling 4d6, dropping the lowest, and allocating the results to whichever stat you wish. In addition, each character can start with one free feat and one uncommon magic item.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The entirety of the campaign will be hosted via Discord(using Avrae), D&D Beyond, and Owlbear Rodeo.
What KEY brings to the table
Due to the nature of pbp campaigns, I will provide incredibly detailed and immersive atmospheres and descriptions. Much of the combat is incredibly intense and tactical, with each side having multiple goals that they will be trying to achieve. I value creativity above all else as a GM, so I am willing to use Rule of Cool , though most often with an ability check and a consequence attached.
Homebrew rules
Potions can be drunk as a bonus action. If they are drunk or administered as an action, the person will receive the maximum result instead of rolling die. For critical hits, your first set of damage die will do max damage, meaning you will only roll the second set. Critically succeeding a saving throw or ability check will grant you advantage on certain rolls. In turn, a critical failure will give you disadvantage on certain rolls.

How KEY creates a safe table
I will having a session 0, and sending out a link to an RPG Consent Checklist document, allowing all the players to inform me about what topics should be excluded from the campaign. Any Xs, Ns, and Os can be digitally sent to me. In addition, a day or two before each session I will send out a list of the potentially triggering content that will be included in the session.
