About the adventure
This is a dark high-fantasy campaign about necessary lies, hard choices, and consequences that don’t fade. You will play competent agents in a world that mostly works — until you start asking why. Monsters are real. Battles are frequent. Victories matter. But every solution feeds a system that demands something in return. Expect: Meaningful combat with lasting consequences Moral choices with no clean answers The chance for sacrifice, tragedy, and mythic endings This campaign rewards players who enjoy character-driven decisions, ethical tension, and stories where doing the “right” thing still costs you something. Not every character will get a happy ending. Every character will matter.

About me
Hi there! My name is Ashley, also known as SpunMagick, or Magi. I am a 40-something avid roleplayer with 27 years of experience in building realms, collaborative storytelling, and character development. I have 20 years of experience as a Game and Lore master, building worlds for my friends to explore, and plots for them to render unmade! In my free time I am also an artist/illustrator, DJ, and costume maker! I love diving into the intricate details of what makes something a particular style, or silhouette, and I apply these things I learn from my sewing exploits and social/crowd work to my D&D sessions! From a storytelling standpoint, I love immersing my players in cinematic descriptions and character-driven plot. I get to know my players as well as their characters, and their backstories, to use in the over-arching plot. We will discuss together, what is and isn't of interest for your character's development and where you would like to see your character go, overall. Building on the lore means each session, for each player is a meaningful, fulfilling interaction. Everyone has a spotlight as we build together a story that will stick with us for years to come. Dungeons and Dragons and many other TTRPGs is meant to be a safe space. Those of us who happen to be neurospicy, queer, or even just curious, have an entire realm in which we can either choose to be utterly ourselves with a sprinkling of magic, or something and someone entirely new. All are welcome, and all are safe.

Creating your character
You may create your character through my campaign link on D&D Beyond. For advanced players, if you wish to use paper and pencil, I only ask that you are able to video share your dice rolls. We will create characters during the first session. I will answer questions about the world so you can more adeptly focus on character creation and sharing ideas with the other team members. I also have a lore survey for your characters, which helps me entwine your character backstory into the overarching plot. Everyone. Will. Matter.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Discord account, you will be invited to my Discord server. You will need a D&D Beyond account as well.
What Ashley brings to the table
I sometimes do character voices, but I am no professional despite a slight history in VA. I use ambient music and combat music, as I have multiple apps for such things and sometimes am able to write my own. Rule of cool for the most part, if you can make it make sense for your character and the story, we're a go! Just make sure to explain in detail and we should be good.
Homebrew rules
If you roll a Nat 20 and have a -1 modifier, we're taking the Nat 20. If your character imbibes in ellicit substances or alcohol too often, I have a homebrew in place where you could get a boon for having a little in your system during battle, but if it's been too long. you get withdrawal symptoms (con saves).

How Ashley creates a safe table
Player safety tools (Lines & Veils, pause/X-card) are always in effect, and boundaries are respected without question. We will go over the lines and veils document in session 0, and each player should be messaging me to list their boundaries before the game actually begins. Clarifying questions will NOT be asked, because boundaries are boundaries and my table is a safe space for all. Said boundaries will be put into effect for the game rules, and should anyone feel uncomfortable during sessions, we pause, and redirect after aftercare. Aftercare is one on one with yours truly, and every player gets this time with me if anyone's boundaries are crossed.
