About the adventure
Your introduction to D&D will be based on a 3-room dungeon that exemplifies the three pillars of the game. Social, Exploration, and Combat. This introduction is suitable for anyone who wants to learn the very basics of D&D and how it is run. You will begin with a simplified character sheet that we have created for you (you will have choices on what type.) We'll walk you through the basics of what a character sheet is for, what the numbers are for, and what are the most important parts to pay attention to while playing. As a group you will then begin in a planned location that is a 3 room dungeon. Each room of the dungeon will feature what we call a pillar of the game. The first will be "Social" which means you may interact with your fellow adventurer's and maybe an NPC (non-player character.) The second will involve "exploration" where you and your party will have a chance to interact with the room and/or objects within the room. Maybe you'll find a secret! The third room you will discover the "BBEG" (big bad evil guy) and you will put your weapon and magic skills to use. Defeat the BBEG for some great treasure!

About me
I'm a bit older, (57) But super young at heart. I played my first D&D game in the summer of 1975 at 7 years old. I grew up in a town where the famed "Judges Guild" was located and played at their facility as a kid. I've played the game off and on most of my life. In 2013 at 45 years old I went back to college to earn an additional degree. It just so happened that my daughter also attended the same school. The following year, we got together, along with some other friends of various ages and created a Tabletop Gaming Club. It quickly grew to the largest club on campus by the end of the year. Each week we regularly had more than 60 people playing Dungeons and Dragons! That said, I enjoy organizing and playing. I offer games for free because I genuinely enjoy the game. If you liked your experience and want to leave a tip, well that's great it will help pay for books and what not. Just leave a tip via a custom payment through Start playing ☺️ If you have any questions at all, feel free to DM me.

Creating your character
Since this is an introductory game, characters will be provided.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need: 1. Discord account for audio call (free) 2. DND Beyond account to play in the Maps VTT (Free) 3. PC or Tablet - audio works well on a tablet and the Maps VTT generally works well on tablet (although moving your character token around on screen can be a bit finicky)

How GusNBru creates a safe table
As this is an introductory session, and is family friendly in all aspects for all ages, I do not expect there to be any issues safety related. However, everyone will receive verbal instruction before we begin playing on what to do if something makes you uncomfortable.
