About the adventure
This definitely wasn't in the job description. One moment you were living your normal life. Going to work, paying the bills. 5 days a weeks, 50+ weeks a year. And then in an instant you found yourself ripped into a world of swords and sorcery. Magic and mystery. And what's worse: it turns out the whole Multiverse is in peril from some guy named “Vecna.” And guess who are the only ones who can stop him? All that, plus you've got secrets that this world keeps trying to spill out. Good luck, and no: You won't be getting overtime for this.

About me
Hey! My name is Michael, and I love creating worlds, building characters, and telling stories. I also like hosting games with a good balance of RP and combat. I love seeing what kind of shenanigans players can come up with and trying to create genuinely heartfelt moments in the games. If you're looking to push the boundaries of what you can accomplish as a player, I want to play with you.

Creating your character
Characters start at level 10. Join the campaign on DND Beyond at the provided link. Characters can be any species or class included in official sources. Homebrew characters subject to approval. Premade characters available on request.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a Discord account and a DND Beyond account, as well as a working microphone.
What Michael brings to the table
I will be hosting the game using a combination of DND Beyond and Discord. I have access to most source books, and am willing to go find more if a player has a character idea. I do character voices to help me keep the various NPCs straight in my head. I think they're pretty good, but I'll let you be the judge. I have never hosted a session with ambient music before, and would like to experiment with it this campaign. If it isn't working we will adjust. In general, I tend to lean more "Rule of Cool." I strongly encourage players to attempt shenanigans. I tend to use the rules as a guideline to keep storytelling consistent and more unpredictable, as opposed to a rigid set of limitations on what characters can and cannot do.
Homebrew rules
Last Stand: If everyone in the party is at 0 hp, one of you can choose to burn all of your hit die to increase attack rolls, damage, and/or spell save DCs for one last big attack that either destroys an enemy or let's the rest of the party escape. But the character who does it is then permanently dead. Nothing shy of a Wish spell or Divine Intervention can bring them back, and even that would have consequences.

How Michael creates a safe table
In Session 0, we will be sure to have a moment to go over any triggers or sources of discomfort players have so I can avoid them during gameplay. I will maintain an open door policy for any player who has concerns during games. I will also provide a post-session talk where players can bring up any concerns they have.
