About the adventure

This game is for the players who seek a genuine DnD base game experience while also enjoying the highly tailored experience of a world wrapped around your character. If you are hoping for a game that you can feel invested in, and the Underdark peaks your interest as a setting, then this is your game! --- A year after the events in Baldur's Gate, after the cult of the Absolute was defeated, the Sword Coast jumped into it's age of repair. Mindflayers being hunted down in mass to stop them from regrouping, and as nations rallied behind this noble cause on the surface world, it was underneath the land itself where we shift our perspective... The Underdark, a sunless place of dark magic and darker politics. For those whose eyes were meant for sunlight this place is an endless void as each step you take is a prayer that you are hidden enough from danger... Or perhaps your the danger itself. Wearing this darkness as a cloak as you hunt the stupid, the brave, or the unlucky. Dare to show weakness and death is only what you deserve... However, in the past year, strange mysteries have been happening in the Upperdark layers... The Drow capitol of Menzobaranzen seems to be sparking in activity as Drow have started controlling all the Entrances and Exits to the surface and filling these checkpoints with Lolth's most loyal Spiders. What are the Drow up to?... The Duergar capitol Gracklstugh, the City of Blades, used to be the brightest point in all of the Underdark as it's fires could be seen all across the Underdark, however nowadays the city has grown completely dark, and the Duergar are seen patrolling in mass all across the underside of the Sword Coast. What are the Duergar looking for?... But the biggest mystery of all, the Dark Gnomes of the Underdark seemed to have vanished almost overnight. All the major cities such as Blingdenstone are completely abandoned with no signs of struggle. Where have the Svirfneblin gone?.... Something terrible is happening all throughout the Underdark, and with seemingly no way out, you must find others who can help you survive, and with any luck you all will find your path escape before it's too late...

About me

Hello! I am Nana, I'm a chill gal in my 30's and I have been a DM for 5 years. I started with homebrew but for 3 years now I have been a base game dnd style DM and we can fully blame BG3 for that~ I like to run the games I would want to play myself, experiencing the land of Faerun in a real genuine game of DnD with the standard races and experiencing the years old play tested lore of this famously fleshed out fantasy. I also am very newbie friendly as I treat game settings and locations almost like a tour of things famously known to most players who play in these settings. Storytelling is my hobby and passion, so any game I run is going to be primarily about a lived in world and how you can achieve your main goal while also running into important characters who will be moving along in their own plans alongside you. Lastly I encourage positivity and health of the real life people over the make believe characters since I want any space im in charge of to be a place where anyone feels safe to talk, form friendships, and better themselves and each other through encouragement and kindness. I am confident on my skills navigating toxic behavior and I am not afraid to tell people to take that behavior elsewhere. I protect my players and I honestly just want the best for good people.

Character creation

Creating your character

-Point Buy -Before session 1 we will build your character and I will work with you to include them heavily in the world building. -You can pick either 2014 or 2024 rules. -I don't do any homebrew in my games and I will ask that you stick to either the base game races/classes OR from the books: Monsters of the Multiverse Xanithar's Guide to Everything Tasha's Caldron of Everything Eberron: Rising from the Last War Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

What to expect

Preparing for the session

-We play on Discord -Characters are made in DnDBeyond preferably but I also don't mind other sources for your character sheet. -We will play use Owlbear Rodeo for all encounters.

What Nana brings to the table

-Music! I use Kenku for game music and environment ambience and sound effects. -I try my best with character voices but admittedly as a girl with a fem voice dude voices are my foil LOL -Positivity and courage are greatly rewarded at my table. If players are looking out for each other or being considerate, doing something even if nervous, or even just doing a good job of hyping each other up then I tend to reward you with Heroic Inspirations and/or Hero Points! -Combat, Roleplay situations, and Puzzles often are solvable through multiple solutions and I adore it when a player can find a good solution that even I didn't think of. -We are a roleplay heavy game style with rule of cool totally being allowed! I love to reward creativity so long as it's not taking away fun from the rest of the table.

Homebrew rules

-We respect Nat 20s and Nat 1s in this house! -Also if you are ever 1 shotted in a single turn of combat, there is a lingering injury table that while optional is something that you can roll on to see if there are any significant damage you may carry for the rest of the game. -I don't give a shit about ammo or most spell components. Revivify and other spells like it WILL still require their spell components to keep death important in this world.

Safety

How Nana creates a safe table

-Trigger Warnings will be provided in the server, and session Zero we will try and be thorough on anything that would ever make you feel unsafe. -MOST of the trigger warnings come from official Drow/Duergar lore and ALL RACISM is fantasy in nature ONLY. -Every player in the server gets secret chats with the DM, those chats are great places to ping me and tell me if there is any issues without any pressure. -I am never afraid to tell problem players to stop or leave. -Women especially have a safe place to play at my table as I have a zero tolerance policy for Sexism or Transphobia.
