About the adventure
Every job starts small: a missing person, a strange sighting, a client who won’t tell you the whole truth. It never stays that way. You chase leads through back alleys and skybridges, into forgotten districts and places better left sealed. Along the way, you uncover monsters both literal and human—and you decide how far you’re willing to go to stop them. Each case stands on its own, but the consequences follow you home. This game leans hard into pulp noir fantasy: fast-moving mysteries, dangerous secrets, stylish action, and moral gray areas where doing the right thing often comes at a cost. You don’t need to know the setting going in—the city reveals itself as you work the case. If you enjoy investigation, character-driven stories, and dragging ugly truths into the light even when it costs you, this episodic "monster-of-the-week" style campaign might be your calling.

About me
Greetings, traveler! If you’re on the hunt for a GM who puts story and character front and center, and who prioritizes fun at the table for novices and veterans alike, then hey! Pull up a chair. We might just click. I’ve been GMing for over a quarter of my life—7 years, to be exact. Dungeons & Dragons 5e is my bread and butter, but I’ve got a soft spot for narrative gems like Alice is Missing, The Witch is Dead, and Ten Candles. I usually run games on Roll20 with Discord as a home base for sessions, chatter, and community. While I’m most experienced with sprawling, multi-year campaigns, I adore punchy one-shots and mini-campaigns just as much. My philosophy is simple: build the game around the players. Every table gets a Session 0 so we can carve out the tone, set boundaries and goals, and figure out your big character dreams. Your characters are the protagonists, and I take a lot of joy in crafting personal story arcs for them to weave into the heart of the adventure. My tables are open to players of all identities and backgrounds. Everyone deserves dignity, safety, and a damn good time. Let’s tell some stories together soon!

Creating your character
During Session Zero, we'll discuss campaign expectations, Lines and Veils, and brainstorm characters together. Characters will start at Level 3, with stats created using the point-buy system using D&D Beyond. We'll use the following source books during this process: - All Eberron source books available on D&D Beyond - Tasha's Cauldron of Everything - Xanathar's Guide to Everything - Ghosts of Saltmarsh - Player's Handbook - Heroes of Faerun
The party is currently made up of a sun soul monk, an inquisitive rogue, a berserker barbarian, and a celestial warlock.

What Dana brings to the table
I pride myself on my ability to shape the plot of my campaigns around the characters my players bring to the table. You can expect character-driven storylines, ambient music, and a roleplay-heavy campaign. While I use Rules As Written as a foundation for my games, I'm almost always happy to bend those rules if I believe it adds to the story, or creates a cool moment. After all, the only way to "win" Dungeons & Dragons is to have fun while you play! I'm accepting of folks from all walks of life, and will absolutely not tolerate any discrimination at my table. Everyone, regardless of background, deserves to have fun and be respected.
Homebrew rules
Feeding someone else a potion takes an action. Drinking a potion yourself takes a bonus action. If you choose to instead use your action to drink the potion yourself, the potion gives you maximum healing. If you are granted inspiration, but you already have it, you get +1 added to your stack to a maximum of 3. When you use your inspiration, you burn your whole stack as an additional modifier to your roll. Other homebrew rules may be added as the campaign goes on, but these are the two we'll definitely start with.

How Dana creates a safe table
Prior to Session Zero, I'll send a link to a Lines and Veils form for everyone to fill out. This will be anonymous, and I'll use the responses to this form as a foundation for our discussions for campaign expectations during Session Zero. During play, we'll use the X-card system to make sure everyone stays comfortable at the table. These will be messaged to the chat, or verbalized during play. After every session, we'll decompress with some fun facts, discuss what happened and how we feel about it, and chat until everyone feels alright. Your safety as a player is my utmost priority, and I have a document outlining each of these safety tools that will also be distributed during Session Zero!
