About the adventure
Welcome to The Dare, a one-shot scenario. In it, players take on the roles of middle school aged children who are forced to spend the night in a (supposedly) haunted house. Jason Fenninger, a school and neighborhood bully who has goaded them into coming, will be there along with them to make sure they don't chicken out.

About me
Hello and welcome! I’m Mr. Mike. I bring a unique background to the table—I’ve worked as a post-mortem vascular surgeon, licensed mortician, private investigator, and a counselor working with at-risk youth. Real-life experience with the darker side of humanity has shaped the way I run horror: grounded, intense, and unforgettable. My love for horror started early, reading Cujo in 5th grade, and hasn’t slowed down since—700+ books later. Favorites include Jaws and the deeply unsettling Feeders from Within by Peter Evans. If you enjoy dread, tension, and psychological horror—you’re in the right place. Why I Run Games I didn’t exactly grow up on the straight and narrow. As a kid in Milwaukee, I got into my fair share of trouble—until a friend picked up the DC Heroes Roleplaying Game. Everything changed. Instead of causing chaos, we started creating stories. That experience stuck with me: boredom creates trouble—storytelling creates purpose. That philosophy still drives how I run games today. What You Can Expect at My Table • Immersive, story-first horror (especially Call of Cthulhu) • Strong atmosphere, tension, and meaningful choices • A balance of roleplay, investigation, and mechanics • Sessions that respect your time—but leave an impact Finding a great GM can be a gamble—I aim to be one you’ll come back to. My Games I regularly run a variety of published and custom scenarios, adding new material every month. Original Scenarios: • Fit for Duty (9–12 hours): A deep, intense experience • Naked and Afraid… Well, Maybe (3 hours): Fast-paced, mysterious, and unpredictable I also have new original scenarios currently in development—so there’s always something fresh coming. Final Thoughts To everyone who has played at my table—thank you. Your support and reviews mean everything. If you’re looking for something different… something darker… I’d love to have you at the table. Hope to see you soon. —Mr. Mike

Creating your character
No real character levels in Call of Cthulhu. My plan is to create several pre made characters and to post them on Roll20. I am always open to ideas or suggestions from the players, as well.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Web Cam optional. Microphone required. I sometimes notice players having tech difficulties with audio on Discord. As alternatives, remember you can use your Discord App on your phone or the audio on Roll20.
What Mr. Mike brings to the table
I plan to have hand outs. Roll20 can do the dice rolls. But I am not opposed to players rolling dice on their own.

How Mr. Mike creates a safe table
The setting takes place in the 1980's. Middle school had a bit of a different culture back then. Sometimes bullying was a common occurrence. My goal is only to provide a story and allow for the players to develop their characters. I'm excited to see the end result.
