About the adventure

When a mountain hag and her icy constructs take over your village, an endless winter descends on all you love and hold dear. No one can leave, nothing will change, and spring will never come. At least, that's what she wants you to believe. But you're tired of listening to the lies - and you're ready to fight back. Join us for some Daggerheart fun in support of charity! This wintry one-shot is beginner friendly and open to any level of experience with the system. Will you save the day and herald the return of spring? All proceeds for this one-shot benefit the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund, held at the Women's Foundation of Minnesota, as part of StartPlaying's charity event.

About me

Welcome! I'm Kai (they/them), a theatre kid turned TTRPG nerd who is absolutely in love with this form of collective storytelling. As a game master, I focus on immersive roleplaying, tailoring every adventure to the players and their characters, and encouraging shenanigans whenever possible. I bring a lot of "yes and" energy to the virtual table and foster a spirit of fun and creativity.

Character creation

Creating your character

Pre-generated character options will be available, or make your own! Either way we’ll be using Demiplane for character sheets. Please create a level 2 character using Demiplane. Core and Void content are open for using, but no homebrew. I encourage players to talk about what characters they want to play in our Discord server ahead of time, so we can find synergy in the party and how your characters know each other before starting the game!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Install Discord: Discord is where our chat will happen. If you haven't got it yet, download it and sign up at discord.com. A link to my discord server will be provided in your onboarding materials! Demiplane. Demiplane is the online tool for Daggerheart character sheets! Once you’re in the Discord I’ll provide a link that will give you access to content sharing so you have the full range of options. Mic & Quiet Spot: Find a quiet, distraction-free place to play from, and have headphones ready if you can to reduce speaker echo. Cameras are very much encouraged (seeing faces helps build connection and community, and helps with reading social cues!) but are not required.

Safety

How Kai Solace creates a safe table

This game uses the Deck of Player Safety! This simple tool allows the players and GM to quickly and anonymously submit topics they don't want to come up at the beginning of the game. As a trans, queer GM myself, I want my games to be a place where everyone is welcome and can bring their full selves to the game. I run assertively welcoming games for all genders, orientations, ethnicities, abilities, and identities. Please let me know if there are any additional accommodations or access needs I can provide for you!
