About the adventure

Want a dungeon dive with no commitment? Did your game plans fizzle out? Just want to slay some monsters? Grab a character and get in the Dungeon! "Campaign in a One-Shot" format allows you to play when there is an open seat. With two to five players each session the story progresses from week to week. Along the way you'll square off against Urban Criminals, Strange Cultists, Displaced Oozes, Rogue Demons, Drow War Parties, and more. The Story: Waterdeep has had it and the Factions of the Sword Coast have united to sponsor your mission to stabilize each level, and if possible to neutalize the Mad Mage. Each faction has a secret agenda, so choose wisely who you ally yourself with. The participating factions are, The Harpers - acts to thwart evil and promote fairness through knowledge, rather than brute force. The Emerald Enclave - maintains balance in the natural order and combating the forces that threaten it. The Order of the Gauntlet - holy warriors on a righteous quest to crush evil and promote justice, and they never hide in the shadows. The Lords’ Alliance. - representatives of the cities and other governments that constitute the alliance with interests and concerns that transcend local politics and geography. The Zhentarim - serve the goals of the Black Network in secret, and pose as a different faction supporter, typically The Lord's Alliance. ▶️ Playstyle of this game will focus on getting into the dungeon and rolling dice. The combats will be challenging and the encounters will always be dynamic. I roll publicly and our characters live and die by the roll of the dice. Out of character, the table feel is casual with some laughs on the way and everyone is welcome. Come as you are.

About me

Hail and well met adventurers, Over the last four years, I have met hundreds of incredible people around the virtual table. The stories we've shared have brought joy, laughter, and a even a few tears into our lives. Many of these folks return to the table year after year. They'll be quick to welcome you to and eager to hear your tales and experiences when you sit down to play. My road to becoming a professional Dungeon Master is a long and storied one that began with a few little fibs I used to tell as an extremely shy kid. When I met new people, I would tell them cowboy stories about adventures I had with my faithful steed. The more smiles I received, the longer the stories went on. Growing up in the Midwest region of the US, Dungeons & Dragons was all around me. I played in my neighborhood when my brother and his friends would let me tag along. Later, he convinced the High School D&D club to let me come to the big table when I was still in Middle School. Fast Forward to 2016, I opened up the Lost Mines of Phandelver Box Set. After a 25 year hiatus from the hobby I loved, I sat down at the table with my kids and rediscovered the joy of Tabletop Role-Playing Games. Like many others, the 2020 Pandemic lockdowns led me to an online game that quickly brought me to a joyous career of story-telling and playing games. The rest we say, is canon. Grab a seat, roll some dice, live the adventure, create epic stories, and make friends at the table. Hey, there's an open spot now! David, the avidDM

Character creation

Creating your character

PREMADE Characters are available for this game. Custom characters the same level as the current party can be created before the game using my official resources on roll20 or D&D Beyond. I will provide as much or as little help that you need to make your character. Use these guidelines: Start with a 5th level character using Point Buy or Standard Array for stats. Begin with Starting Equipment Character sheets must be complete and approved at least 2 hours before game time. Players signing up after the cut-off must use a premade character unless they already have an approved character sheet from a previous game. APPROVED SOURCE BOOKS: Character Options from the 2024 Player's Handbook, and Magic Item from the '24 Dungeon Master's Guide Forgotten Realms Heroes of Faerun

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Bring a character idea and a good attitude to the table. You will need a free Discord and D&D Beyond login. https://www.dndbeyond.com/en https://discord.com/ 💻 A PC, Laptop, or Notebook computer with a stable internet connection is required along with a working mic and a quiet place to play. A decent headset comes in handy if you have background noise. 📷 A camera is not required. I use one during introductions and roleplay.

What David | The avidDM brings to the table

Light background music and an array of 3rd party maps set the stage for crunchy combats and epic showdowns. The dice decide our fates and are rolled openly. We'll have plenty of laughs along with some groans as we dodge bad puns and score critical hits, and misses.
