About the adventure

🌕🌔🌓🌒🌑🌘🌗🌖🌕 When the eclipse crowns Aurellion, its citizens step aside into the Ethereal and the city is left to those bold enough to claim it. Streets empty, but filled with unseen eyes. From sealed vaults and sunless menageries, the city’s deadliest monsters are released, and the Moonlight Hunt begins! Kill quickly and you may survive. Kill spectacularly and the city will speak your name for years to come. Those who rise above the rest earn the highest honour Aurellion can bestow: the title of Moonblade. Sign the contract. Take the mark. When the eclipse passes and the citizens return, the streets will be washed clean, but the legends linger... About me

If you’re looking for a GM who can bring your characters to life, weave them into emotionally rich stories, and create a table that feels welcoming, safe, and unforgettable, welcome to the Hive! With over a decade of experience running games, I specialise in narrative-driven campaigns, collaborative roleplay, and helping both new and veteran players feel like heroes or lovable disasters in a world that responds to their choices. My background in acting means I bring strong character work and immersive storytelling to every session, but never expect players to “perform” unless they want to. I adapt to the vibe of the table, whether it’s emotional journeys, chaotic hijinks, or somewhere in between. I'm here to make your story shine! I live a nomadic lifestyle across the UK, house-sitting and caring full-time for my disabled partner while studying Psychology part-time. GMing TTRPGs is not just what I do - it’s what I live for. My sessions are inclusive, player-focused, and designed to build connection, confidence and creativity in safe environment for all LGBTQIA+ identities. Daggerheart and D&D are my bread and butter, however if you have another system you think would be a good fit for my style, send me a suggestion; I'm always open to trying new games!

Character creation

Creating your character

You’ll be invited to a D&D Beyond campaign ahead of the session with a selection of expansion materials shared freely for your use. If you’re new to D&D and D&D Beyond, feel free to explore the interface. I encourage beginners to schedule a call with me to help guide you through the process, but feel free to build it yourself if you want to give it a go! Upon completion, I will review your character sheet and Experienced players: If you're already comfortable with the character builder, you're welcome to build your character solo. Upon completion, sheets will be exported to the VTT, but feel free to use D&DB, Foundry, pen and paper to play the game - whatever method is most accessible for you! KEY DETAILS * Starting Level *** * Important Settings Optional Features - Enable both checkboxes. Character Privacy - Public. This allows me to easily port your sheet to the VTT. This can be changed upon completion if you prefer. * Ability Scores Any choice of stat generation is fine, with one additional homebrew option available: Balanced 4d6 – Take one stat at 16, one stat at 8, and roll 4d6, dropping lowest for the remaining four stats. These rolls will be done together during Session 0. * Rules Edition: The campaign will default to the 2024 rules. Characters using 2014 rules are acceptable, but expect the campaign mechanics to lean toward the newer design. * Permitted Content: All official content is welcome, including Artificer and other expanded classes or species. On D&D Beyond, you must own the relevant content to access it yourself. Homebrew and 3rd party content will be considered, but expect the answer to likely be a no. CHARACTER CONCEPTS Come with a rough idea of your character - personality, past, goals, etc but don't feel like this needs to be extensive for a one-shot. New players should especially not worry too much about this, but feel free to reach out if this is something you do want to explore more. Character depth can be expanded upon if you choose to join one of my campaigns in the future. BACKGROUNDS New players; stick with 2024 for the smoothest character creation experience. Experienced: 2024 backgrounds tend to be limiting if you have specific ASIs and origin feats in mind. I recommend picking 2014 backgrounds and adding a +2 and +1 or +1 to three ASIs manually in the Abilities tab (Other Modifier box), then manually adding your chosen Origin feat, unless you have picked a 2014 player species.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

SAFETY QUESTIONAIRE - Ensure you fill out the 5 minute safety questionnaire I will send out upon confirming your place in the group. This is ESSENTIAL to ensure the table is a safe space for everyone involved. Failure to complete the questionnaire will result in you being removed from the game. If you join on the day of the game starting, do your best to get it done in a reasonable timeframe to allow for me to properly read through your boundaries. Ensure you have the following tools ready and available and tested in advance of our start time: DISCORD - Added me and accepted the server invite. D&DBEYOND - Ensure you have already registered an account and have joined the campaign link provided, creating or joining with a character suited to the level of this adventure. DICE - If using physical dice, ensure you have them handy and ready to go. At least one full set of dice is best (d20, d12, d10, d%, d8, d6, d4). PC (preferable) - FoundryVTT (free for players to join) relies on a reasonably specced PC to run effectively. The minimum recommended specs recommended are as follows: Windows 10 or 11, macOS Big Sur (or newer), or Linux operating systems (Ubuntu 22+, Debian 11+, Redhat 9+, Arch) with support for 64-bit architecture. Integrated GPU to enable hardware acceleration. 8GB of RAM A modern web browser like Chrome, Firefox, Opera, or Edge with hardware acceleration enabled. (Safari is not a supported browser at this time). Whilst I've had some success with mobile in the past, it is not designed for this and any functionality is by chance and not to be expected. IOS particularly struggles with the software and is not recommended - it can be worth a try, but expect your experience and immersion to be limited if you cannot meet this requirement. Failing this, you will follow the action through a screenshare where necessary.

What Beeby brings to the table

I will provide a safe and inclusive space for all LGBTQIA+ identities and skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or seasoned dungeon crawler, you will be welcome at my table! I use my acting experience to provide a range of voices and personalities for each of my NPCs to give a unique feel and memorable character for each. I heavily lean into RP, However this is NEVER the expected level for my players - You are encouraged to engage at whatever level feels safe for you, whether that means putting on a voice and performing, using your own voice, or simply describing your actions and your character’s words in the third person. You will never feel pressured to step beyond your comfort zone. Thanks to my decade of experience GMing running groups of sometimes up to 8 players at once, I am acutely aware of the importance of sharing the spotlight between players. I pride myself on my awareness of when someone is struggling to get a word in or have their moment. Equally, I have GMed for players who are more than happy to be a fly on the wall during a session, whether due to anxiety or simple introversion. When I notice a player is quieter than the rest, I always check that they are comfortable with how the spotlight is being shared. If not, I work with them to figure out how to help them reach a point where they feel able to speak up for themselves. FoundryVTT is my Virtual Tabletop of choice, as it allows for all-in-one immersion from animated scenes, dynamic battlemaps, character sheet management, loot distribution and even music and ambience mixers which can be customized on an individual player level, meaning the volume is never too high or low. During one shots, I strive for a good balance between social and combat encounters, with each having a different level based on player interest. I very much embrace a rule of cool approach, viewing rules as guidelines more than strict boundaries, with a few notable exceptions. These exceptions can be found in my Homebrew Rules page. D&D to me is a narrative, not a numbers game, and anything that fundamentally enhances the drama and story or captures that memorable moment is a win in my books! When it comes to worldbuilding, I value the uniquely collaborative nature of storytelling in TTRPGs. Much of the setting is built organically and this is extended to my one shots, tailoring each individual group's session to each of my players. If you tell me about a rival or enemy organization in your backstory, don't be surprised if they make an appearance! After the session, you are welcome to enquire into any new ongoing campaigns I am starting or currently run. If I have availability and feel you would be a good fit, we can begin to expand your character and organically weave their backstory into the relevant setting.

Homebrew rules

MEANINGFUL CRITS - Roll your damage dice and add the maximum you could've rolled to your total before modifiers. - e.g: Shortsword Crit = 1d6 + 6(crit bonus) + 3 (Str mod) BLAZE OF GLORY - Auto-fail 2 death saves to automatically crit succeed on one d20 test, subject to DM approval. CASTING COMPONENTS - All components are for flavor only and not essential; your components can be whatever they want. - Components with a gold cost MUST be purchased or acquired BEFORE you can use the spell. Inform your DM if you pick one. DEATH AND RESURRECTION - Appropriate casting components of Res spells MUST be acquired before the spell is needed. - Resurrection demands a group skill challenge. Offerings and bargains with higher entities can be made to increase odds of success, often at a cost. The target MUST be willing to return to life. - Upon a successful resurrection, the PC takes a Scar: a narratively relevant handicap to remind you of your darkest hour. Discuss with GM. LONG AND SHORT RESTS - Short Rests can be taken anywhere, but only a max of 3 between each Long Rest. - Long Rests must be taken in a safe location, such as an inn, town, military camp, sealed secret chamber etc; subject to GM discretion CREATIVE USES OF ABILITIES AND SPELLS - Freedom of creative use encouraged, however a lower level spell cannot achieve what a higher level spell can - E.G: Minor Illusion (cantrip) can conjure up a still image no larger than 5ft, but cannot create a moving, multi-sensory illusion like Major Image can THE GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY - Use Heroic Inspiration during an initiative round to immediately take your turn to capitalize on a golden opportunity that may have passed by the time your turn comes around. - If you don't have Heroic Inspiration, you can still attempt this, however you grant a Villainous Inspiration to the GM to allow them to immediately take the turn of any adversary at a moment of their choosing. POTIONS AND CONSUMABLES - All consumables take a bonus action to utilize on yourself - If administering to another entity, they take a full action. FAILED KNOWLEDGE CHECKS - Depending on how severely you failed, the GM may provide MISLEADING information, but will not tell you if you passed or failed the check in all cases. ASKING TO USE CERTAIN SKILLS - Asking for certain skills to be used is discouraged, unless you can provide a reasonable explanation as to why that skill is relevant in a given situation. REACTIONS - Rolling a Nat 1 on any attack roll against a creature grants that creature an optional Opportunity Attack using their reaction. This applies to both NPCs and PCs. GRAPPLE CHECKS - Grappling uses 2014 rules (roll-off). Escaping a grapple uses the 2024 set DC method.

How Beeby creates a safe table

🌄PRE-SESSION MONTE COOK RPG CONSENT CHECKLIST - You must fill out a 1 page checklist of your Red Lines (no-go topics) and Veils (mentioned, but no detail) that will be sent out upon your approval to the game. - Answers are compiled anonymously along with other players' answers and shared with the group during session 0. - Due to the sensitive nature of these topics, your answers are completely confidential between you and the DM, and I will never publicly out you for your red lines and veils without your explicit consent. ------ ☀️DURING SESSION LUXTON TECHNIQUE When triggering content emerges in-game unexpectedly, players have the right to pause the game, take a brief break and express their needs or wants before the game continues, free of judgement. Afterwards, play will continue accommodating these needs. BREAKS A half-hour break is taken mid-session to give players a chance to restock snacks, recuperate or smoke. During combat encounters, this is usually taken at the end of a round for an easy restart. OPEN DOOR Players can freely excuse themselves for a needed break during the session whenever their safety and wellbeing demands it. Play continues as though their character remains in the background of the scene. ------- 🌆POST SESSION AFTERCARE - Players are encouraged to talk about what they enjoyed post-session. - Each session ends with a reminder to private message the GM if there are any issues or concerns you might have. Private calls can be arranged for more extensive conversations when requested.
