About the adventure
An unexplainable death has taken place in a snowy village far north - an explorer caught a sickness that slowly turned him into ice. 🥶There might be more victims - including your own party - if you do not find the cure. 🤒 You have been hired to investigate this circumstance and find who or what killed the dwarf. 🔍Talk to people who might know more, and investigate places of interest. Work together as a team and stop this mysterious disease! This adventure is fitting for people of all levels of skill. 😊 We will use the 2024 edition of Dungeons & Dragons 5e. 🐲 We will have a 10 minute break during the session. 🕑

About me
My name is Fabio, I'm originally from Germany and I now live in beautiful Sweden. I fell in love with D&D around 10 years ago when my brother introduced me to Critical Role. I started playing in 2022 and have been DMing since 2023. I have mostly been leading online one-shots and a long-term real-life campaign in my homebrew world. My goal is to make sure that everyone at the table feels seen and has a fun time together. It is especially important to me that everyone feels like they are in a safe space where they can be themselves and explore their characters. Trusting each other (for example, by being honest about what you rolled on your dice) is vital for a positive shared experience.

Creating your character
We will use the 2024 edition of Dungeons & Dragons 5e wherever we can. This does NOT mean that content from the 2014 edition and it's expansions are forbidden. Characters will be created together during the first session (session 0) using DnDBeyond: www.dndbeyond.com Make sure you have an account! Provide me with a character image, to represent the way your character looks. I have no problems using AI to create an image, but note that it might be frowned upon by others. You will start at level 1, and stats will be decided by using the standart array, so you use these numbers to fill in your statistics: 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 This is to ensure equal chances for everyone at the table. No homebrew classes, races/species or otherwise will be used, and only those that fit into the high fantasy setting of Exandria (No Rick & Morty, Spelljammer, ...) Note that, since this is a pre-written adventure, the backstory of your character might not or only few parts of it come into focus. You are encouraged to have a loosely outlined character structure, including Character Flaws (Such as Pride, Addiction, Anxiety, ...) Character Bonds (Compassion, Faith, Loss, ...) and Character Motivation (Wealth, Power, Ambition, ...). We will go deeper into this during session 0!

What Fabio brings to the table
i use "Kenku FM" to play music over discord. It is such an integral part do immersing yourself into the game, I could never do without it! I like to do voices for the characters I portray, I have fun with it! And always encourage players to play their characters in ways to make everyone at the table feel more immersed. During combat I usually give some sort of description of players actions, or ask for a visual description. (For example: "What color are the flames of your Firebolt?" or something similar) I approve of Rule of Cool (going slightly outside of the rules to create interesting and memorable moments)
Homebrew rules
Drinking a healing potion can be done as a bonus action, but you can instead use your action to get the maximum amount of healing possible from that potion. On critical hits, you can choose to either double the damage number you rolled or double the amount of dice you roll. For example, lets say you roll 1d8 damage normally. If your result is 3, you can choose after rolling the damage if you would like to double that (so 3*2) or roll another dice. This is to give critical hits more chances to be impactful while still respecting the dice rolls.

How Fabio creates a safe table
We will have a group chat on Discord. During session 0, we will discuss where everyones Lines and Veils stand, and I will pin the answers clearly visible for everyone at all times. I will make adjustments to the game as needed. After each session I check in with all players, ask what went well and what topics or situations need to be adressed more. I make sure to get an answer from each player and make sure to respect their feelings and feedback.
